Paying Tickets

Traffic Tickets (Provincial Offence Notices)

Upon receiving a Provincial Offence Notice, you have three (3) options:

  1. Guilty Plea – Pay the Ticket as prescribed;
  2. Guilty with an Explanation – A court date will be set for appearance to explain to the Judge your reasons for committing an offence; or
  3. Not Guilty – A court date will be set for Trial.

To make a Guilty plea, you can pay your ticket at any Manitoba Provincial Court Office (Mon-Fri 8:30am - 4:30pm) on or before the due date, please bring your ticket with you.

You may also make cheque or money order payable to the Minister of Finance and send it to:

You can pay online at https://www.gov.mb.ca/justice/fines/online.html. You are required to have the following information when making an online payment:

  1. Ticket Number
  2. Date of Offence
  3. Original Amount of Ticket
  4. A valid VISA or MasterCard

You can pay by Telephone (204) 945-4673 24 hours a day by Visa or MasterCard. There is a fee charged for using this telephone service.

Please Note – the Brandon Police Service does NOT process payment of any Provincial Offence Notices.

If you wish to plead NOT GUILTY to a Provincial Offence Notice, you may arrange for a hearing by going to the Courthouse within the dates shown on the bottom of your notice and advising a justice of your intent to dispute the offence notice.

**If you do not pay or dispute a ticket ON OR BEFORE THE DUE DATE, the ticket will be treated as not disputed and a conviction may be entered in your absence. A $50 Default Penalty will be added to any other penalty that is assessed. Non-Payment of a fine will result in legal action being taken against you.**

 

Bylaw Tickets

In order to pay for a by-law ticket, you may take the ticket to City Hall, located at 410 9th Street in Brandon – Monday to Friday between 8:30am – 5:00pm. You may also make your payment at the Transit information center, located at 8th Street and Rosser Avenue. Brandon Police Service does NOT process the payment of bylaw tickets.

If you wish to plead NOT GUILTY to a bylaw ticket, you are required to appear before a justice of the peace at City Hall between the hours of 9am and 4pm on any working day which falls within 15 days of the date the violation occurred.
