Robbery

On February 18, 2021, shortly after midnight, police responded to several 911 calls from a business in the 700 block of 10th street.  A male entered the business with one hand concealed in his pocket and demanded an employee give him money while threatening he had a gun; however, no gun was seen.  The male suspect did not receive any money and fled. 

Police were able view images of the suspect taken from security cameras.  A male matching the images was located nearby within minutes of the call, and arrested.  No weapons were located.  He was suffering from extensive frostbite, which was treated at BRHC.  The 41-year-old male will appear in court on May 17, 2021 on a charge of Robbery.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On February 17, 2021, shortly after 9:00 am, police responded to a report of a male who had entered a business in the 400 block of 9th street, and was attempting to gain access to employee only areas.  A 47-year-old male was located and found to be on conditions not to attend the business.  He was arrested and released to appear in court on May 6, 2021 on a charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Arrest Warrant

On February 17, 2021 at approximately 4:40 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1800 block of McTavish Ave.  A 27-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant.  Once he was arrested, police found him in possession of a pair of brass knuckles.  The male was also on conditions not to possess any weapons.  He was released to appear in court on April 26, 2021 on charges of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of Prohibited Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order, and Breach of Probation.

On February 17, 20201, police located and arrested a 16-year-old male youth who was wanted on outstanding charges.  He was released to appear in court on April 14, 2021 on charges of Mischief to Property and Theft Under $5000.

 

Theft Under $5000

On February 17, 2021, police received a complaint of the theft of merchandise from a business in the 700 block of 10th street, at approximately 1:00 am.  The suspect fled from the business, but employees were able to identify him.  Police located and arrested the 40-year-old male suspect at approximately 8:30 pm.  He will appear in court on April 15, 2021 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On February 17, 2021, police responded to a report of a disturbance near a business in the 900 block of Victoria shortly after 10:00 pm.  A 27-year-old male who was involved was found to be the subject of a 7:00 pm curfew.  He was also intoxicated, but he was on an order to abstain.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order.

 

Assault

On February 18, 2021 at approximately 12:30 am, police responded o a report of an assault, which occurred in a residence.  Police located both the suspect and the victim at the residence.  The victim sustained minor injuries, which did not require medical attention.  The 37-year-old male suspect was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today on a charge of Assault.
