Structure Fire

On February 15, 2021, police responded to assist BFES at a structure fire at a business in the 1200 block of Highland Ave at 1:42 pm.  The building is situated on the south side of the highway.  As the fire hydrant closest to the building was frozen, all lanes of the TransCanada Highway and the north and south service roads were closed in order to run a hose from the north side of the hwy.  By-law members and members of local RCMP assisted with controlling traffic until the hydrant closest to the fire was thawed.  Traffic was able to move through the area by 10:30 pm.  Members of BFES were still on scene once the traffic issues were resolved.  Police do not have information on the cause of the fire or, the value of the damage at this time.
