November 27th Media Release

For the last 24 hours:

Arrest Warrants Executed:

A 26 year-old female from Brandon was arrested during a traffic stop in the 1000 block 18th Street at approximately 9:30 AM Thursday morning.  During the stop, members learned she was wanted on a BPS warrant for arrest for possession of a controlled substance and failing to attend court.  As the warrant was endorsed, she was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on January 11th.

An employee at a group home called for Police assistance at around 10:10 PM Thursday night for a 22 year-old male who was refusing to leave the residence.  The male was not a resident there and was not allowed under the public health order.  Members attended and subsequently arrested him on the strength of a Winnipeg PS warrant for arrest for failing to comply with a Probation Order.  He was processed and later released with a court date in Winnipeg.  He was also ticketed for failing to wear a mask in public as required.

Breach of Suspended Sentence

At 1:17 PM Thursday afternoon, the father of a 33 year-old male reported his son was at their Hazelwood Crescent residence contrary to a suspended sentence order.  The order required the accused to have specific permission to attend.  The accused was located nearby, arrested, and later released from Police custody to attend court on February 8th facing one count of failing to comply with a Probation Order.

Break and Enter

At about 9:40 AM Thursday morning, it was reported that an unoccupied commercial building in the 0-00 block 9th Street had the glass door broken out. Members attended, and with the assistance of the Police canine unit the building was checked for any intruders but none were located.  The property was later secured and the matter remains under investigation.
