Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.


Breach of Probation

A 36 year man from Sandy Bay was charged for breaching two probation orders by contacting a woman in Brandon on Saturday. He appeared in court on Saturday.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle

On Saturday afternoon, an officer stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of a hotel on Middleton Ave. The vehicle had been stolen in Winnipeg on November 18th. The driver was arrested for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and released to appear in court on January 14th.

Domestic Assault

On Saturday afternoon, a woman reported her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her by choking her and throwing her to the ground. The suspect, a 31 year old from Brandon, was arrested and released to appear in court in January.

Possession of Marihuana

On Saturday afternoon, a vehicle was stopped on #1 Highway west of Brandon. The driver stated he had a medical license for possession of a small bag of marihuana, however the marihuana was found to be illicit. The occupants of the vehicle were arrested and a further search revealed several more bags of marihuana. The two men, a 34 year old and 39 year old both from Victoria BC appeared in court on Sunday morning.

Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Proceeds of Crime

Two people were charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Proceeds of Crime on Saturday afternoon. Officers received information regarding a drug sale at a residence in the city. The officers observed a woman leave the residence and approach a vehicle. She was checked and found to have methamphetamine and cash on her. She was arrested and shortly after a male exited the residence and was also arrested. Both subjects, a 38 year old woman from Winnipeg and a 28 year old Brandon man were arrested and released to appear in court in January.
