Break and Enter

At approx. 9:30 AM Friday, police received a call reporting a break and enter to a storage unit, located in the 4000 block of Victoria Ave.  The lock on the unit had been cut to gain entry. The storage unit was vacant therefore nothing was taken.  There was a camper trailer on the property that was also entered however at this time it is unknown if anything was taken from it.  The matter is still under investigation.

 

Theft Under $5000

 At approx. 10:30 Friday morning, a police officer was at a retail store in the 900 block of Victoria on an unrelated matter when he and the Loss Prevention officer observed a male exiting the store after having concealed 4 sets of headphones in his backpack.  The 17-year-old Brandon male was arrested, the goods were recovered and he was released with a court date of November 24.

 

Assault / Mischief to Property

At 7:15 PM Friday, officers were called to a residence in the 600 block of Douglas St for a disturbance.  The caller indicated that the suspect had grabbed her by the throat after he had been smashing things in the residence. The 33-year-old Brandon male was located at the residence; he was arrested for assault and mischief to property.  He was held at the Brandon Police Service and will appear in court later today.   

 

Arrest Warrant Executed

At approx. 11:45 PM Friday, Police received a call from a female in the 2500 block of McDonald Ave who was reporting that someone had broken her widow and there were people attempting to get in.  Officers attended to find that none of what she was reporting appeared to be occurring.  It appeared that she was under the influence of alcohol or a drug and when further checks were conducted, she was found to be the subject of a warrant for her arrest. The 51-year-old Brandon Female was arrested on the strength of her warrant for charges of theft under$5000, fraud transportation, and 4 counts of failing to attend court.  She was held at the Brandon Police Service overnight and will appear in court this morning.
