Impaired Driving

On October 8, 2020, shortly before 1:00 am, police stopped a vehicle in the 000 block of 10th street, as the plates were inactive.  The driver displayed signs of impairment, and open cans of beer were observed within the vehicle.  Following the driver’s arrest, the 45-year-old male provided samples of his breath more than twice the legal limit.  He will appear in court on December 21, 2020 on charges of Drive While Ability Impaired, and Drive with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood. 

 

Assault with a Weapon

On October 6, 2020, two victims came forward with complaints of assault, which occurred, between 2017 and August 2020 at the hand of the same suspect.  An investigation into the complaints led police to arrest a 19-year-old male.  He will appear in court on December 31, 2020 on charges of Assault with a Weapon, Assault by Choking, Administer Noxious Thing with Intent and Assault.

 

Possess for the Purpose of Trafficking – Meth

On October 7, 2020, at approximately 9:00 am, police conducted a vehicle stop in the 1000 block of Louise Ave.  A passenger in the vehicle was found to be the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant.  Upon his arrest, police located approximately 10 grams of Meth and $1500 in his possession.  The 24-year-old male will appear in court on December 10, 2020 on charges of Possess for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possess Proceeds of Crime.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On October 8, 2020, police conducted a vehicle stop in the 1400 block of 5th street at approximately 4:40 am.  One of the vehicle’s occupants was found to be the subject of several court ordered conditions that she was breaching.  The 26-year-old female was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

 

Stolen Trailer

On October 7, 2020, policer received a report of the theft of a homemade utility trailer from a business in the 1500 block of 1st street N.  The theft is believed to have occurred prior to September 26, 2020.  The license on the trailer is Manitoba CLY 237.  Anyone with information regarding this theft is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service. 

 

Arrest Warrants

On October 7, 2020, police located and arrested a 22-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Probation.  He appeared in court later during the day.

On October 7, 2020, a 39-year-old male attended Brandon Police Service on his own accord, as he was aware of an outstanding warrant for his arrest.  He will appear in court on November 9, 2020 on a charge of Fail to Attend.

On October 7, 2020, police located a 40-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Robbery Break and Enter and Mischief.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

On October 7, 2020, police located a 26-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Assault and Fail to comply with court Order during a vehicle stop.  She will appear in court on January 5, 2021.

On October 8, 2020, police located a 34-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to comply with Release Order.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

 

Breach of Peace

Overnight, police responded to two separate reports of disturbances within residences caused by intoxicated females.  To prevent each situation for escalating further, a female youth, and a 21-year-old female were arrested and lodged until sober.
