Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

 

Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine:

At approximately 4:45 A.M., Police conducted a vehicle stop in the 800 Block of Lorne Avenue with an unregistered vehicle. The male driver was found to be in breach of a Probation Order and the female passenger was in breach of a condition of her Undertaking. Both were taken into custody and a search of the female recovered a quantity of methamphetamine, cash and other drug trafficking related paraphernalia. A conducted energy weapon was also located in the console area between the driver and passenger seat. The 21-year-old male from Brandon was arrested for Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of Weapon contrary to a Prohibition Order and Breach of Probation. The 20-year-old female passenger also from Brandon was arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Breach of Undertaking. Both suspects have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Court in November.

 

Break and Enter Arrest:

In the early morning hours on Tuesday, Police responded to a building complex in the 400 Block 9th Street after receiving a report that a male forcibly entered the locked building. The suspect was located within and investigation determined that he caused significant damage to a washroom located on the main floor of the building. The 46-year-old man from Brandon was arrested for Break and Enter as well as Mischief to Property under $5000. He was lodged at the Police Service and released once sober, to appear in Court in November.

 

Business Compound Break and Enters: 

  • On Tuesday morning, an employee of a business on Richmond Avenue East reported a break enter to the fenced compound that occurred sometime between September 4th and the time of report. Entry was gained by smashing a lock on the gate. Once inside suspect(s) broke into a trailer and stole an 18V Milwaukee impact drill, a 20 V Milwaukee drill and several other tools. The investigation continues.
  • On Tuesday morning, an employee of a business on Grandview Street reported a break and enter to the fenced compound that occurred sometime since September 5th. The fence was cut and numerous power tools were stolen from within. This matter is still under investigation.
  • On Tuesday morning, an employee of a business in the 2400 Block of Park Avenue reported that the fenced compound was broken into in the early morning hours of September 7th. Nothing was reported stolen during this incident and the Police investigation continues.

 

Other Arrests: 

  • Three individuals were detained at the Police Service under the Intoxicated Person Detention Act.
