For the last 24 hours:

Arrest Warrant Executed

Acting on an anonymous tip, officers attended to a Brandon business at approx. 12:20 Monday afternoon and arrested Annie Huntinghawk.  The 60-year-old Brandon female was wanted for her part in what appears to have been a racially motivated assault on Sept 3.  She was arrested for charges of assault and public incitement of hatred.  Huntinghawk appeared in court Monday afternoon and has been remanded in custody. Police are still attempting to locate and arrest Steven Huntinghawk for his involvement in this incident.

Break, Enter and Theft

At approx. 11 AM Monday, officers were called to a business in the 1000 block of 20th St for a report of a break and enter.  It appears that the suspect(s) cut their way through the fence in the compound at that location to gain entry.  Once inside the compound the suspects stole a number of tools for trailers at that location.  The matter is still under investigation.

At approx. 9:25 PM Monday, Officers attempted to stop an erratic driver in the outskirts of the City (2600 block of Patricia Ave). The vehicle, with two occupants failed to stop ad instead attempted to flee.  A pursuit ensued, which occurred entirely outside of the City, primarily on gravel roads, at speeds of approx. 90 km/h. The pursuit ended in a field just east of Hwy 250, when the suspect vehicle drove through a barbed wire fence, and became disabled in the field. The two suspects, both with extensive prior police involvement, were arrested without incident. Officers recovered approx. 11 grams of meth, approx. $1200 in cash and a hatchet.

The 33-year-old male driver of Brandon will appear in court this morning, charged with possession of meth for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon, prohibited driving, dangerous driving, flight from police, and possession of the proceeds of crime.

The 17-year-old female passenger, currently of Boissevain, will appear in court this morning as well.  She has been charged with possession of meth for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon, fail to comply with a probation order, and 5 counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.  She is also currently the subject of a warrant for her arrest for charges of assault and 2 counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.  That warrant has been executed and she will face those charges this morning as well.

Other Arrests:

  • A 22-year-old Brandon female turned herself in for an outstanding warrant for her arrest for assault and failing to attend court. She was released with a new court date of October 8.
