Impaired Driving / Drive Over .08

At approx. 6:20 AM Sunday, a call was received of a vehicle that was driving erratically and almost struck another vehicle while traveling in the 100 block of 18th St.  The vehicle was observed to strike the curb causing 3 of its tires to deflate.  After having also hitting a sign on the side of the roadway, the female driver fled the area on foot.  Members attended and located the driver hiding in a yard in the 100 block of 15th St. The female displayed obvious signs of impairment and was arrested. The 20-year-old Brandon female later provided samples of her breath, which resulted in readings 3 times the legal limit.  She was held in cells until sober, and has been released with a court date of September 14.

 

Domestic Assault / Forcible Confinement ET el

Early Sunday evening police were called to an address on Cornwallis Cres for a possible domestic assault.  A female had contacted a family member electronically asking that they send police as she was being held against her will and assaulted. Officers attended and located the female and the 36-year-old male assailant.  The female disclosed that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend and threatened, while he pointed a gun at her.  She also stated that she had been forced to use crack cocaine during the assault.  The male was arrested for assault, unlawful confinement, administer noxious substance, uttering threats, and pointing a firearm.  He was held in custody and will appear in court later this morning.

 

Update on Aggravated Assault from Thursday Sept 3

As reported over the weekend, BPS has obtained warrants of arrest for Anne Huntinghawk (60) and Steven Huntinghawk (36) from their involvement in what appears to have been a racially motivated assault.  Both individuals are still outstanding and police are requesting that anyone with information regarding their whereabouts, call police or Crime Stoppers.

 

Other Arrests:

  • 2 males were held in custody after being arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.
  • 1 female was arrested and held for breach of the peace.
