Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

Theft of Motor Vehicle

At 8:35 pm on Wednesday evening, officers observed a vehicle parked in the 100 block of 16th St. The Saskatchewan license plate on the vehicle was reported stolen. The vehicle was stopped and it was learned that the vehicle was also stolen from Winnipeg. The driver, a 27 year old woman with no fixed address, was arrested for Theft of Motor Vehicle and Possession of Property Obtained Crime. She will appear in court on Thursday.

Break and Enters

On Wednesday morning, the office of an apartment complex on Willowdale Crescent was broken into. A resident heard a window break and called police. The suspects left before officers arrived. The property manager determined a safe was stolen with a quantity of cash inside.

A garage was entered on Merury Lane overnight on Sept 2nd. A vehicle was entered but it does not appear that anything was stolen.

A building under construction in the 500 block of Pacific Ave was broken into sometime in the last month. Suspects forced open a sliding door. Numerous tools and a large quantity of wire was stolen. No one was at the site for over a month and the exact date of the break in is unknown.

Possession of Break in Instruments, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

On August 21st, a man was checked by police and had in his possession 3 debit machines and a pair of bolt cutters. Further investigation revealed the debit machines were stolen out of a business on Princess Ave that was broken into on August 12th. The accused, a 41 year old from Brandon, was located and arrested on Wednesday evening. He will appear in court on Thursday.

Impaired Driving

On Wednesday afternoon, a witness reported a woman drinking in a vehicle in a parking lot in the 600 block of 18th St. Officers located the vehicle with three occupants. The woman behind the wheel displayed signs of impairment and was arrested. She provided samples twice the legal limit and was charged. She was released to appear in court in November.

Other Arrests

A 31 year old man from Winnipeg was arrested on several warrants. He was in a vehicle stopped on the Transcanada Highway. He was appeared in court and was released for a later date.

A 28 year old Brandon man was arrested on Wednesday for breaching a court order by not attending court ordered meetings. He appeared in court on Wednesday afternoon.

Two people were lodged for Breach of Peace.
