Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

Theft of Motor Vehicle/Impaired Driving

At 7:50 pm, an officer observed a 1-ton pickup driving erratically on 18th St near Richmond Ave. The vehicle eventually crashed into a sign at 26th St and Willowdale Crs and the driver fled on foot. He apprehended a short distance away. The driver gave a false name initially and displayed signs of impairment by alcohol. His identity was confirmed and he was arrested for Impaired Driving. After breath test readings over twice the legal limit, the driver was lodged to be remanded on Thursday morning. The truck was reported stolen from a gas station on Lyndale Drive. The accused, an 18 year old from Brandon, has been charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Public Mischief, Impaired Driving, Drive over 80 mg% and Breach of a Recognizance.

Possession of Break In Instruments

A 38 year old Brandon woman was charged with Possession of Break In Instruments on Thursday morning. She was in possession a set of bolt cutters and a pry bar.

Assault with a Weapon (Domestic)

At 3:20 am offices attended to a disturbance at an apartment in the 600 block of Pacific Ave. A man and a woman at the residence both stated they had been assaulted by the other with a lamp. Both were arrested and lodged as they were intoxicated. They were both released later with court dates in September.

Other Arrests

A 34 year old Brandon man was arrested on Wednesday afternoon after he passed out in a restaurant Downton. Officers attended and found he is on a recognizance with a 24 hour curfew. He appeared in court on Thursday morning.

A 20 year old woman from Sioux Valley was arrested for breaching an undertaking on Thursday evening. She was intoxicated at a business on Richmond Ave. She was released for court in September 28th.

A 40 year old man from Sioux Valley was arrested for breaching an undertaking after he was found in the 1200 block of Mctavish intoxicated by alcohol.
