Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.


Break and Enters


On Tuesday, staff at the East View Landfill reported a break and enter to the recycling building office.  A door was forced open and several filing cabinets were then pried open.  A drink and snack machine were also opened and items stolen from within.  Surveillance video has been seized and the investigation is ongoing.


Shortly before 6:00 am on Tuesday, the resident of an apartment in the 600 block of Victoria Ave reported she was awoken by a woman entering her unlocked apartment.  The woman stole a purse containing an iPhone, medication and a vehicle keys.  At 9:00 am the complainant called again to report her 2014 Kia Rio was stolen from her residence.   The stolen vehicle was recovered by the RCMP after it was involved in a single vehicle rollover accident near Kemnay.  A female suspect was located nearby and arrested by the RCMP.  The break and enter is under investigation.


Stolen Vehicle


On Tuesday, a resident of the 500 block of 37th St reported a Chevrolet Cruz stolen from the residence between June 26th and June 28th. The vehicle was recovered by the RCMP in Russell.


Theft Under $5000


On June 4th, a male suspect stole a bottle of vodka form a MLCC store. He was identified by surveillance video.  On Tuesday, the 26 year old suspect, a resident of Brandon, was arrested and released to appear in court in September.


Domestic Assault


On Tuesday evening, officers responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the 1600 block of 9th St.   A woman at the residence disclosed she was assaulted by her boyfriend.  The suspect, a 40 year old Brandon resident was arrested and released to appear in court in September


Other Arrests


A 37 year old Brandon woman was arrested on a warrant for Breach of Probation. She was released to appear in court in September.



A 26 year old Brandon man was arrested on a warrant for Failing to Comply with a Probation Order. He was released to appear in court in July.



One person was held under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and two people were held for Breach of Peace.
