Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Meth

At approx. 1:00 PM on Tuesday, officers were alerted to a female who appeared to be sleeping in a vehicle in the 600 block of Percy St.  The information provided was that she had been there for approx. 2 hours with the vehicle running.  Members attended and found her passed out inside.  It appeared that the 34 year old female may be under the influence of a drug, therefore she was arrested for being in care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired.  A search incident to arrest resulted in the discovery of approx. 38 grams of individually packaged meth as well as scales.  The accused has been released with a court date of September 10, charged with Possession of Meth for the Purpose of Trafficking.  The investigation to determine what if any drug she was under the influence of is continuing.  She could still be charged for being in care and control while impaired at a later date.

 

Mischief to Property – Possession of Cannabis

At approx. 7:25 PM police were called to a residence on Buttercup Bay as a homeowner had caught two female youth spray painting graffiti on her fence.  Members attended and arrested the two youths aged 12 and 14 years.  The investigation revealed it was the 14 year old that spray-painted the fence, while the 12 year old watched.  The 14 year old was also found to be in possession a small quantity of cannabis.  She has been charged with Mischief to Property under $5000 and under the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act for possession of cannabis as a young person.  She will appear in court on August 18.  The 12 year old was not charged.  Both girls were turned over to a parent.  

 

Break and Enter Arrest

At approx. 10:55 hrs police conducted traffic stop in the 500 block of Kirkcaldy.  The two occupants in the vehicle, who are known to police were suspects in a May 9th break and enter to an apartment complex in the 1400 block of 22nd St.  Both suspects had forced their way into the complex and attempted to steal money from the laundry machines.  They were recorded during the break in which allowed police to confirm their identity.  The 29-year-old male and 23-year-old female were arrested for Break and Enter with Intent, and were later released with an August 4th court date.

 

Trespass by Night / Possession a Prohibited Weapon

At approx. 12:30 AM, police were called to an address in the 1200 block of 26th St for a suspicious male in the back yard.  Members attended and located a 36-year-old male, and a 26-year-old female in the back yard.  The male attempted to drop a knife and a can of bear spray out of sight of the officers; however the attempt was witnessed by the responding officers.  The female claimed the items were hers so both were arrests for Trespass by Night and possession of a Prohibited Weapon.  They were both released on and Undertaking and will appear in court on July 30th
