Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

Recovered Stolen Rifle

On Wednesday, members of the Major Crimes Unit and Patrol division executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of 16th St. Information was received that a rifle stolen from Minnedosa in April was in the residence. The occupants of the residence were located and detained outside of the home before the warrant was executed. The residence was searched and a lever action 30-30 rifle with ammunition was located. A 26 year old Brandon man has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of firearm/ammunition x 2, Possession for purpose of weapons trafficking and careless storage of a firearm and will appear in court in August

Mischief to Property

A 40 year old Brandon man was arrested on Wednesday morning near 10th St and Rosser Ave. A witness reported watching the man smash a window in a vehicle parked on the street and steal a purse from inside. The man was also responsible for two other similar incidents in the area. He was intoxicated at the time of his arrest and was held to sober up. He was released to appear in court in August on 3 counts of Mischief Under $5000 and 2 counts of Theft Under $5000.

Possession of Methamphetamine

At 10:45 am on Wednesday morning, a vehicle was stopped near a hotel in the 200 block of 18th St North. The officer observed drugs in the vehicle which was later revealed to methamphetamine. The three occupants of the vehicle were arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine. A 39 year old man, a 20 year old man and a 20 year old woman, all from Brandon, were released to appear in court in September.

Breach of Release Order

On Wednesday afternoon, a vehicle was stopped in the 700 block of 10th St. A female passenger was breaching a release order condition to not attend Brandon. She was lodged to appear in court.

Other Arrests

One person was held for Breach of Peace.

A 35 year old Brandon man was arrested on a warrant for Breach of Probation and released on an undertaking.
