Single Vehicle Rollover

On Monday morning, police received a call of a single vehicle that had rolled into a ravine on Richmond Avenue East. The vehicle was located with a single male occupant who was taken to BRHC by ambulance. The cause of the accident has not been determined. Police continue to investigate.


Weapons Offences

On Monday, police received information that three males were checking out of a local motel and were wanted by police. The males were observed leaving and a vehicle stop was conducted. Three males, all from Edmonton were identified. The first male, a 32-year-old, was found to be on a court order with a condition not to attend the city of Brandon. He was arrested and the vehicle was searched. Police located a sawed-off rifle and a small amount of cocaine in the vehicle. All three males were charged with a number of firearms related offences including possession of a weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle, possess a prohibited weapon, and possess a weapon obtained by crime. The three males were held in custody to appear in court in the morning.



On Monday evening, a 31-year-old female was apprehended after shoplifting from a retail store on Victoria Avenue and then assaulting a staff member. The accused had filled her purse with merchandise and then punched an employee. The female was arrested leaving the scene in a taxi and found to be on a number of court ordered conditions including being on a curfew and not to possess alcohol. The female was charged with robbery with violence and breach of recognizance. She was released for court in August.



On Monday evening, police attended a disturbance in the 800 block of 11th Street. While at the scene, the female occupant disclosed being assaulted by her common-law earlier in the day when he grabbed her and threw her across a room. The 32-year-old Brandon male was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was later released from custody and will appear in court in August.


Breach of Court Order - Warrants

On Monday evening, two males were reported in the 700 block of 10th Street checking parked vehicles. Both suspects were located and identified. The 19-year-old male was wanted on an endorsed warrant for breaching his probation. He was arrested and released for court in July. His female companion was released at the scene without charges.

While assisting CFS, Manitoba First Nations Police came into contact with a 18-year-old Brandon female who was intoxicated. A check revealed that she was wanted on an endorsed warrant held by Brandon Police for two counts of breach of probation. She was held until sober and then released for court in August.
