Impaired Driver

At approx. 10:30 PM Sunday evening, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1000 block of Pacific Ave.  The 31-year-old male driver was found to have a suspended licence. A roadside screening test was conducted to determine if he had an excess amount of alcohol in his system, which he failed.  The driver was brought to the Police Service were he provided two samples of his breath which resulted in readings just over the legal limit. The Brandon male was released with a court date of June 25th, charged for Impaired Driving, Drive Over .08 and he also received a Highway Traffic Act ticket for driving while suspended.  


Possession of a Prohibited Weapon / Possession of Meth et el.

At approx. 3:35 AM today, police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle near 34th St and Victoria Ave.  The 32-year-old driver is known by Police to be prohibited from driving Canada wide, and was therefore arrested.  The accused was searched incident to his arrest and officers located a can of pepper spray as well as a pill bottle containing what is believed to be Meth and Fentanyl, as well as a quantity of cash.  The accused was released to a Brandon address and will appear in court on August 8th.  He is charged with Possession of Meth and Fentanyl for Trafficking, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Carry a Concealed Weapon, Possession of Proceeds of Crime and Driving while Prohibited. 


Single Vehicle Accident  

At approx. 4:10 PM Sunday afternoon a 911 call was received reporting a motorcycle accident in the area of 1st Street between Kirkcaldy Drive and the 1st Street bridge.  The 22-year-old male driver of the motorcycle was southbound on 1st St when he lost control and struck the guardrail where the roadway curves.  The driver was thrown a distance from the motorcycle into the roadway.  The male was transported to BRHC by ambulance with undisclosed injuries.  Southbound 1st Street was closed for approx. 6 hours to allow the Traffic Analysts to conduct the scene investigation.  It appears that speed may have been a factor however the investigation is ongoing.
