Obstruct Justice

In the fall of 2019, police received a report of a 26-year-old male who was attempting to prevent witnesses from testifying at his trial, so that his charges would be dropped.  Investigation revealed that the suspect tried to persuade other individuals to intimidate and threaten witnesses on his behalf.

An arrest warrant was issued for the suspect.  He was located on March 25, 2020 by officers, who observed him out in public.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today on a charge of Obstruct Justice.

Breach of Peace

On March 25, 2020 shortly after 10:0 pm, police responded to a report of an unwanted houseguest at a residence.  The 35-year-old female had worn out her welcome and refused to leave after two hours of the homeowner pleading with her to do so.  As she was intoxicated, unable to care for herself, and her family members refused to care for her, she was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre until sober.

IPDA

On March 25, at approximately 11:00 pm, an intoxicated 50-year-old male attended to Brandon Police Service to make a complaint.  Call takers and police had difficulty understanding what exactly took place, due to the male’s communication skills being compromised by his intoxication.  The male also had no one to care for him while intoxicated and was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre until sober.
