Update MVC Involving Pedestrian 26 street and Park Ave

On November 19, 2019, the 75-year-old female pedestrian succumbed to her injuries.

Brandon Police Service Investigators and Traffic Analysts continue to investigate.

 

November 19, 2019 Update: Motor Vehicle Collision Involving Pedestrian

 

On November 18, 2019 at approximately 9:18 am, members of Brandon Police Service Traffic Section and Patrol Division responded with members of Brandon Fire and Emergency Service to an accident at the intersection of 26th Street and Park Ave involving a pedestrian.

A motorist struck the pedestrian who was believed to be walking southbound on the east side of the intersection. The motorist was turning eastbound onto Park Ave after travelling southbound on 26th street. The motorist is fully cooperating with the investigation. Speed and intoxication are not factors in this accident. Police continue to investigate.

The pedestrian suffered a significant head injury and has since been transported via ambulance to Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre. We do not have an update on the medical status of the pedestrian this morning. No further personal information about the female will be released.

Thank you to all who responded yesterday to our request for assistance in identifying the female. With your help, we were able to identify the pedestrian and notify her family of her condition.
