Theft Under $5000/ Assault/ Possession of Weapon

On November 17, 2019 at approximately 3:20 pm, police attended to the area of the 1900 block of Richmond Ave after the report of a theft from a business in the 1500 block of 18th street.

A female suspect stole merchandise from the business, and was pursued across the street by an employee who was attempting to retrieve the property. When the employee caught up with the suspect, the suspect kicked them in the leg to try to escape.

Police arrested the 19-year-old female and found that she was also in possession of a pool ball in a sock.

She will appear in court On January 13, 2020 on charges of Theft Under $5000, Assault, and Possession of a Weapon.

 

Assault

On November 15, 2019, police received a report of an assault, which occurred within a residence shortly after 12:00 pm. The suspect both kicked and punched the victim before throwing garbage throughout the yard. The victim did not require medical attention. The suspect left the residence on her own.

The 22-year-old female suspect was located on November 17, 2019. She was arrested and will appear in court on December 16, 2019 on a charge of Assault.

 

Breach of OIC Undertaking

On November 17, 2019 at approximately 3:30 pm, police responded to a report of three individuals in the 1800 block of Brandon Ave. who were throwing things at passing cars while intoxicated. Two of the males left without any further issues, but the third was to abide by conditions to abstain from consuming alcohol. The 30-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in court today on a charge of Breach of OIC Undertaking.

 

Theft Under $5000

On November 1, 2019, police received a report of a theft of merchandise from a business in the 600 block of Rosser Ave, which occurred that morning. The theft was captured on video, which allowed police to identify the suspect. On November 17, 2019, the 28-year-old female was arrested. She was already in Brandon Correctional Centre on a separate charge. She will appear in court today on an additional Charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

Breach of Peace

On November 17, 2019, while dealing with a possible careless driver in the 400 block of Percy Street, police were repeatedly approached by an intoxicated male who was interfering with the investigation. The male was in no condition to care for himself, and there was nobody else sober to turn him over to. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.

 

Breach of Recognizance

On November 18, 2019 at approximately 12:30 am, police responded to a report of a male suspect who was attempting to enter vehicles in the area of the 1100 block of Russell St. An 18-year-old male suspect was later located and arrested shortly before 2:00 am as he was in breach of his court ordered curfew. He was lodged t Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today on a charge of Breach of Recognizance. It is not known if any vehicles were successfully entered.

 

Breach of Peace

On November 18, 2019 shortly before 5:00 am, police responded to a report of a male who was causing problems within a family residence by being intoxicated, and ½ naked. The rest of the members of the household wanted him removed so they could have some peace. The 38-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.
