For the last 24 hours.



At approx. 12:30 Saturday afternoon Police responded to a business in the Corral Centre (18th St N) for a holdup alarm.  Upon arrival it was learned that three adult females had filled several shopping carts with goods from the store and were attempting to leave without making payment.  A store employee attempted to stop the suspects from leaving, however the suspects pulled a knife out and threatened the male employee.  The suspects then fled the area in a vehicle.  Officers were able to obtain a description of the vehicle and its direction of travel from video surveillance.  A short time later, the vehicle was located and a traffic stop was coordinated among responding police units.  The vehicle was stopped in the 200 block of 8th St. and the suspects were arrested.  Officers located approximately $395 worth of stolen property inside the vehicle.  During the arrest process two f the females provided false names to the arresting officers however their investigation did lead to the discovery of their true identity. 

The first accused, a 33 year old from Sioux Valley was charged with robbery and public mischief (for providing a false name).  The second accused, a 41 year old from Brandon is charged with robbery and public mischief.  She was also the subject of two warrants for her arrest for charges including break and enter, assault, 2 counts of theft, 2 counts of breach of recognizance, and breach of probation.  The third accused, a 28 year old from Brandon was charged with robbery.  She is also charged as a result of a November 1st report of theft of a $225 pair of glasses from a store in the Towne Centre.   All three accused females were all lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre and are scheduled to appear before a Justice later this morning.   


Stolen Vehicle

At approx. 7:05 Saturday morning Police received a call of the theft of a vehicle from a driveway in the 500 block of Franklin St.  The vehicle is a 2007 grey Chev Silverado with Manitoba licence GMR 675.  The owner had started the vehicle to warm up and while he was inside the vehicle was stolen. The vehicle has not been recovered.



At 3:20 Saturday afternoon Police were called to a business in the 8000 block of Pacific for an assault.  Upon arrival, it was learned that a 31-year-old Brandon male had assaulted his 19-year-old girlfriend, both parties were highly intoxicated.  He was arrested on scene and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre, charged with common assault.  Once sober he will be released with a court date of December 16th


Arrest Warrants Executed

At approximately 10:30 Saturday evening Officers were called to a fight in the 700 block of 10th St.. Although no charges resulted from the fight, two of the males located were found to be the wanted for outstanding warrant of arrest. The first male, a 34-year-old Brandon man was wanted for failing to appear as directed for fingerprinting resulting from a pending charge of mischief to property in Brandon.  The second male, a 25-year-old Brandon man was wanted by the RCMP in The Pas for failing to comply with his Probation order.  Both men were intoxicated at the time of their arrest so they were lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre.  They will be release with court dates once they are sober.


Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth / Arrest Warrant execution

At approx. 1:30 AM Sunday morning Police conducted a vehicle stop in the 800 block of Brock Ave.  The driver of the vehicle did not hold a valid drivers licence.  Further investigation revealed one fo the passengers was in possession of a small quantity of Meth, a contaminated digital scale, packaging material consistent with drug trafficking, and $325 in cash.  The 38 year old Brandon male was arrested for possession of Meth for the purpose of trafficking as well as possession of proceeds of crime.  He was released on a promise to appear in court on January 9th 2020.

A second passenger in the vehicle, a 35 year old female from The Pas MB was found to be wanted by the Winnipeg Police Service for possession of a prohibited weapon, 3 counts of possession of a weapon, breach of recognizance and failing to appear in court.  She was also wanted by the RCMP in Roblin for assault, and the RCMP in The Pas for possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.  She was released with separate court dates in each of those communities.   


Other Arrests

  • · 3 individuals were lodged under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act from 3 separate calls for service
