Fraudulent Use of Credit Card

 

On November 6, 2019, police received a report of a vehicle window being smashed, and a purse from within the vehicle being stolen while it was parked in the 100 block of 7th street after 2:00 pm.

The suspect then used the tap function on the credit cards to make purchases at three separate locations.

The initial mischief to the vehicle and the use of the credit cards were all captured on video surveillance, which assisted police in discovering the suspect’s identity.

On November 14, 2019, the 39-year-old male suspect was located and arrested. He appeared in court in the afternoon of his arrest on charges of Mischief to Property Under $5000, Theft Under $5000, and Fraudulent Use of Credit Card X 3.

 

Attempted Robbery

On November 15, 2019 shortly after 5:00 am, police received a report of an attempted Robbery in the 000 block of Willowdale Cres.

The victim was approached by a suspect who claimed to have a knife in his jacket and demanded the victim’s bankcard. The victim did not see a knife, and fled to a nearby business to seek help. The suspect did not take anything from the victim, and the victim was not harmed.

The suspect left on foot, north bound, on 26th street. A description of the suspect is an indigenous male, tall/slim build, ponytail, wearing glasses, lighter coloured pants, black hoodie with a red shirt underneath, wearing a black hat pulled to the side, white and black running shoes, carrying a backpack. Anyone with information regarding this attempted Robbery is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Impaired Driving

On November 14, 2019, shortly after 5:00 pm, police received a report an impaired driver. Police located the vehicle and stopped it in the 500 block of Louise Ave. The 58-year-old male driver exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested. He provided two samples of his breath that were more than twice the legal limit. He was released to a sober friend and will appear in court on November 21, 2019 on charges of Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80 mg%.

 

Impaired Driving

On November 15, 2019, shortly after 3:00 am, police stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of 26 street. The driver had been consuming alcohol, and provided a breath sample on the ASD, which registered a fail. The 18-year-old female driver was then arrested and provided two samples of her breath that were more than the legal limit. She was released to a sober friend, and will appear in court on November 21, 2019 on charges of Impaired Driving and Drive over 80 mg%.

 

Assault

On November 14, 2019, police responded to a report of an assault, which occurred at a residence. The suspect assaulted the victim with by both punching and stomping on them causing bruising. During the altercation, windows within the residence were also smashed by the victim. The 55-year-old male suspect was arrested for the assault and will appear in court on December 16, 2019.

 

Theft Under $5000

On November 14, 2019, police responded to a theft of merchandise from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave at approximately 2:30 pm. The 43-year-old male suspect was arrested a short time later. The business recovered their merchandise, and the suspect will appear in court on January 13, 2020 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

Breach of Peace

On November 14, 2019, shortly after 5:00 pm, police received a report of a male who was intimidating and harassing strangers outside of businesses in the 900 block of 18th street n. Police found the 36-year-old male to be intoxicated by alcohol, and arrested him to prevent any further issues. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.

 

IPDA

On November 14, 2019 before 6:00 pm, police received a report of an intoxicated male within a business in the 900 block of Rosser Ave. The 57-year-old male had nowhere to go, and no one to care for him in his state of intoxication. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre until sober.
