Aggravated Assault of Peace Officer

 

Police received a report of an assault on a Correctional Officer at Brandon Correctional Centre, which occurred at approximately 8:20 pm, on November 10, 2019, by a 21-year-old inmate.

Following the assault, the inmate then proceeded to cause extensive damage within the subunit where he was held, including throwing furniture, and food around.

The officer received extensive injuries and was transported to BRHC via ambulance. When police arrived, the situation was contained by BCC employees.

Following an investigation into the actions of the inmate, the 21-year-old male was arrested on November 13, 2019. He will appear in court today on a charge of Aggravated Assault of Peace Officer, and Mischief to Property Over $5000.

The Officer is no longer in the hospital and is recovering.

 

Break and Enter to Residence

On November13, 2019, police responded to a report of a Break and Enter to a residence in the 800 block of 14th street, which may have occurred overnight. The side door to the garage was entered, and the padlock that secured it, was missing. Once inside suspects stole a 20-year-old orange Trek mountain bike. Anyone who had information regarding this Break and Enter is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Breach of Peace

On November 13, 2019 at approximately 8:30 am, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence. Several intoxicated family members had worn out their welcome with their antics. Police arrested a 53-year-old female and lodged her at Brandon Correctional Centre to prevent any further problems. Police also arrested a 52-year-old male who was in breach of court ordered conditions to have no communication with another occupant of the residence. He too was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today for Breach of Probation.

 

Theft Under $5000

Update: Second suspect located and arrested

On November 6, 2019, shortly after 6:00 pm, police responded to a theft from a business in the 900 block of Rosser Ave. Two female suspects stole a tip jar, and fled. One of the employees followed one of the females, which led police to arrest a 32-year-old female. She was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre due to her intoxication level and will appear in court on January 2, 2020 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

On November 13, 2019, police observed the second suspect walking in the 800 block of Lorne Ave. She was arrested and was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. She was also wanted on an arrest Warrant for outstanding charges from another matter. She will appear in court today on two charges of Theft Under $5000.

 

Theft of Vehicles

On November 13, 2019, police received a report of the theft of two vehicles from the 1500 block of 1st street n. It is believed that the vehicles were stolen at approximately 5:00 am that day. They consist of a grey 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, which was towing a homemade tow dolly, attached to a 2006 Hyundai Santa. The dolly and Hyundai were located abandoned in the 100 block of 11th street N; however, the truck remains outstanding. Anyone with information regarding the theft of this vehicle is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Breach of Probation

On November 13, 2019, at approximately 6:30 pm, police responded to a report of two houseguests who were no longer in a residence due to their intoxication, and aggressive behavior. A 32-year-old male was found to be on conditions not to have communication with another individual at the residence. He was arrested and Lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today on a charge of Breach of Probation. The second individual causing problems, a 23-year-old male, was also arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to prevent further problems.

 

Arrest Warrant

On November 13, 2019 shortly before 9:00 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of college Ave. One of the passengers, a 30-year-old female, was found to be wanted on charges of Breach of Probation. She was arrested and will appear in court today.

 

Breach of Peace

On November 13, 2019, police responded to a residence at approximately 9:45 am, as family members were concerned regarding the violent actions of an intoxicated 21-year-old male. The male was arrested to prevent any harm from coming to himself or others, and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.
