Home Invasion

On November 6, 2019 at approximately 7:30 pm, police responded to a report of a home invasion in the 3500 block of Willowdale Cres.

Two males forced their way into the residence, and assaulted two residents. Neighbors could hear the commotion and alerted police.

The suspects, whose faces were covered during the assault, were carrying weapons. The suspects fled the area, and were not located. Police believe the residence was targeted, and that this incident was not random.

One of the residents was treated on scene for minor injuries.

Fraudulent use of Credit Card

On September 3, 2019, police received a report of a theft of a purse from a vehicle at approximately 7:30 pm. The victims were loading groceries from the vehicle to a house, when suspects stole the purse from within the vehicle.

Several days after the theft, the victim received notification from their bank that the credit and debit cards within the purse had been used fraudulently. The cards were used at eight local businesses to make purchases. Video surveillance from the businesses assisted police in identifying the 23-year-old female suspect. Police were unable to locate her and an arrest warrant was issued.

On October 31, 2019, police received a separate complaint of a theft from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave, in which a suspect left the store without paying for approximately $50 in merchandise. A review of the video surveillance assisted police in identifying the suspect as the same 23-year-old female.

On November 7, 2019, police located the female suspect at approximately 1:30 am, while she was walking in the 300 block of Aberdeen Ave. She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. She will appear in court today on charges of Theft Under $5000, Possession of Property Obtained By Crime X 2, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card X 7, and Fraudulent Use of a Debit Card X 6.

 

Impaired Driving

On November 7, 2019, police came across a vehicle that was being driven erratically shortly before 3:00 am. The vehicle was stopped in the 800 block of 18th street N, and the driver arrested after showing signs of impairment. The 38-year-old male provided samples of his breath that were over the legal limit. He was released to a sober friend, and will appear in court on November 14, 2019 on charges of Impaired Driving and Drive over 80 mg%.

 

Theft Under $5000

On November 6, 2019, shortly after 6:00 pm, police responded to a theft from a business in the 900 block of Rosser Ave. Two female suspects stole a tip jar, and fled. One of the employees followed one of the females, which led police to arrest a 32-year-old female. She was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre due to her intoxication level and will appear in court on January 2, 2020 on a charge of Theft Under $5000. Police know the identity of the second female who will also face charges when located.

 

IPDA

On November 6, 2019 at approximately 6:30 am, police received a report of a male wandering in the area of 10th and Princess Ave. The male appeared intoxicated to the caller, and was not properly dressed for the cool temperatures. Police located the 51-year-old male and lodged him at Brandon Correctional Centre, as there was no one to care for him.

 

Theft Under $5000

On November 1, 2019, police received a report of a theft of merchandise from a business in the 000 block of Willowdale Cres. Video surveillance assisted in identifying the 26-year-old male suspect. On November 6, 2019, he was located and arrested. He will appear in court on December 30, 2019 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

Arrest Warrant

On November 6, 2019, police responded of a report of an individual who was passed out inside a business in the 800 block of Rosser Ave. The 45-year-old male was found to be the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre, and will appear in court today on a charge of Breach of Probation.

 

Assault

On October 19, 2019, police received a report of an assault, which occurred at a business in the 700 block of 10th street. The suspect fled the area prior to police being notified. The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the assault. On November 6, 2019, the 23-year-old female suspect was located and arrested. She will appear in court on January 3, 2020 on a charge of Assault.

 

IPDA

On November 6, 2019, at 8:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male at a business in the 2600 block of Victoria Ave. Employees attempted to get the male to leave on his own accord, but he would not. Police located the male, who was in no condition to care for himself, and arrested him. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre until sober.

 

IPDA

On November 6, 2019, shortly after 9:00 pm, police attended to the 100 block of McTavish Ave E. on a report of an intoxicated male. The 70-year-old male had no one to care for him in his condition. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre until sober.

 

Parole Revocation Warrant

On November 7, 2019 at approximately 1:45 am, police responded to a report of an individual who was becoming violent within a residence. The other people in the residence needed assistance in preventing the 28-year-old male from acting out further. The male was aware that he was the subject of a Parole Revocation Warrant, and indicated he did not want to go back to jail. Once arrested he was transported to Brandon Correctional Centre.

 

Breach of Recognizance

On November 6, 2019, shortly before 11:00 pm, police received a report of an 18-year-old male who was in breach of his curfew, by not being at his residence. The male was located at a different residence shortly after midnight and arrested. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in court today on a charge of Breach of Recognizance.
