Break, Enter and Assault / Aggravated Assault

At approximately 0530 hours on Saturday morning, police responded to a residence in the 800 block of 4th Street. The investigation revealed that one of the occupants, a 19-year-old male had been involved in an altercation earlier in the morning at a separate location. A group of people attended the 4th Street location, forced their way into the residence and assaulted the occupants with bear spray. During the altercation, the 19-year-old male stabbed one of the intruders in the neck. The stabbing victim, a 20-year-old Brandon male, was transported to hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. Those involved in the break and enter, two males and one female, all from Brandon have been arrested and charged with a number of offences including break enter and assault and possession of a prohibited weapon (bear spray). The male occupant who stabbed the intruder has been charged with aggravated assault. He is in custody and will appear in court in the morning. The parties involved in both occurrences are known to each other and these incidents are as a result of an ongoing dispute.
