Break and Enter/ Resist Arrest

On October 29, 2019 shortly after 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of a Break and Enter to a residence in the 200 block of 16th street E.

The homeowner reported an intoxicated male began by ringing his doorbell to try to get inside, stating he lived there. The intoxicated male then forced his way inside through a window, breaking household items in the process.

The homeowner was able to push the intruder back out the window and call police.

The male left on foot, and attempted to run from police when located. After a brief foot pursuit, the male was stopped and arrested on Delta Bay.

The 41-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today on charges of Break and Enter and Resist Arrest.

 

Assault/Forcible Confinement

On October 24, 2019, police received a report of two separate incidents, which occurred between two individuals.

One incident occurred on October 11, 2019. A male assaulted a female after returning to her residence from an evening out with friends. He hit her head multiple times against the floor, and physically would not allow her to get away by holding onto her clothes when she tried to get help.

The second incident occurred on October 24, 2019. After an argument, the male prevented the female from leaving her residence by blocking her path and taking her shoes form her. He repeatedly grabbed her and threw her around. When she tried screaming out for help, he covered her mouth, blocking her breathing. The male indicated he would kill them both, prior to the female fleeing the residence and attending to Brandon Police Service.

Police were unable to locate the male, as he fled the residence.

On October 29, 2019, the 21-year-old male subject attended Brandon Police Service, and turned himself in. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in court today on charges of Assault X 2, Forcible Confinement, Utter Threats, and Overcome Resistance by Attempting to Suffocate.

 

Arrest Warrants/Theft Under $5000

On October 29, 2019, shortly after 4:00 pm, police received a report of a wanted male who was shopping at a downtown business. The employees at the business were aware there were outstanding arrest warrants in effect for the male. The 36-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. He will appear in court today on charges of Theft Under $5000 X 9, Possess Property Obtained by Crime, and Fail to Appear in Court.

 

Assault/ Breach of Recognizance

On October 29, 2019, police responded to a report of an assault at a residence. A 26-year-old male responsible for the assault, fled the residence, and was located 14 blocks away. He was arrested for punching an individual at the residence in the back of the head multiple times. He was also on a court order to have no communication with the individual he punched. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today on a charge of Assault and Breach of Recognizance.

 

Arrest Warrants

On October 29, 2019 at approximately 5:00 pm, a 31-year-old male attended Brandon Police Service, as he was aware he was the subject of outstanding arrest warrants. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in occur today on charges of Breach of Undertaking and Breach of Probation.

 

Arrest Warrant

 

On October 29, 2019, a 19-year-old female attended Brandon Police Service, as she was aware there was an outstanding arrest warrant for her. She will appear in court on November 4, 2019 on a charge of Fail to Attend Court.

 

Breach of Peace

On October 29, 2019, police responded to a report of a female smoking meth in the stairwell of a business in the 800 block of Rosser Ave. The female was also previously barred from the property but repeatedly returned there. The 18-year-old female was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.

 

Breach of Peace

On October 29, 2019, shortly before midnight, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence between siblings. The 16-year-old male was found to be the cause of the disturbance as he was intoxicated by alcohol, and had assaulted both his adult sister and his mother, during an argument over a sweater. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to prevent any further disturbance.
