Residential Explosion

At 7:50 pm on October 22, 2019, there was an explosion at a residence in the 200 block of Queens Ave East. Police and the Office of the Fire Commission are investigating the cause of the explosion, as it was noted there was a strong smell of natural gas in the area upon Emergency Services arrival. A 63-year-old female was found to be deceased within the residence and a 63-year-old male is in critical condition and has been transported by STARS to Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg. At this time this incident is still under investigation by Police.

 

Recovered Stolen Vehicle 

On October 22, 2019, police recovered a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pick up in the 2900 blk of Victoria Ave, that had been reported stolen the day before. No suspects at this time.

 

IPDA 

In the last 24 hrs, three persons were lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre, as they were intoxicated and had nobody to care for them.

 

Arrest Warrant

On October 22, 2019, a 19-year-old female turned herself in at the Brandon Police Service as she had an outstanding Endorsed Warrant of arrest for Breach of Probation. The female was released for court on 26th November 2019.

 

Arrest Warrant

On October 22, 2019, a 20-year-old female was arrested by Steinbach RCMP on the strength of our Warrant for Theft Under $5000 and Fraud. She was released for court in Brandon on November 13, 2019.

 

Arrest Warrant 

On October 22, 2019, a 26-year-old female passenger in a vehicle stopped by police was found to have an Endorsed Warrant of arrest for Fraud Under $5000. She was released for court in Brandon for December 3rd, 2019.

 

Arrest Warrant 

On October 22, 2019, a 46-year-old female was located in the 800 blk of 18th Street, highly intoxicated. She was also wanted on an Endorsed Warrant for Fail to Appear for Fingerprints. She was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober to appear in Brandon court on November 21st, 2019.

 

Breach of Undertaking 

On October 22, 2019, police were called to the area of 300 blk of 11th Street after receiving complaints of persons knocking on doors. An 18-year-old female was located and found to be in breach of a curfew condition. She was released for court in Brandon for December 16th, 2019.
