Impaired driving

On Saturday just before noon, police received a report of a vehicle accident near the 1000 block of Pacific Ave. Prior to police arrival on scene, a female driver from one of the involved vehicles, exited her car and went into a nearby beer vendor. When officers arrived moments later, she was observed to be intoxicated and was arrested for Impaired Driving. Officers also learned that her driver’s licence had been expired since 2001. She provided two breath samples over the legal limit and was arrested for Driving over 80mg%. She was released to appear in court on October 24, 2019. 

Stolen Bike Recovered 

On Saturday around noon, police were investigating an incident in the 300 block of 11th street, when officers noticed a mountain bike that was believed to have been stolen. A check of the serial number confirmed the theft, and a 45 year old male from Brandon was taken into custody. The “Giant” mountain bike valued at $700 was recovered and the male suspect was arrested for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. He is set to appear in court on November 28, 2019.

Warrants Executed 

On Saturday afternoon police observed a male in the downtown area who was believed to be wanted for in relation to a Domestic Assault incident. The 31 year old male from Brandon was taken into custody once the outstanding warrant was confirmed. He was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center and will appear for before a Justice on Sunday.   

Impaired driving, firearms & Cocaine

On Sunday morning at approximately 4:00am, police were called regarding a male sleeping in the drivers seat of a running vehicle in the middle of Garwood drive. As officers approached the vehicle it started moving slowly, but eventually came to a stop. The driver admitted to having too many drinks to drive, and was taken into custody. He then provided two breath samples more than twice the legal limit. He was released to a sober adult, and is set to appear in court on October 28th. 

Breach of Court order

Early Sunday morning police conducted a persons check on a male in the 1000 block of 26th Street. The male was found to be on a Recognizance Court order with conditions not to attend the City of Brandon and to observe a 10pm – 7am curfew. The 32 year old male was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear before a justice on Sunday afternoon. 

Other Arrests 

On Saturday afternoon, police were called to the Town Center for an intoxicated male passed out in the Library. Officers attended and observed the male to be highly intoxicated. The 24 year old male was removed and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center, to be released when sober.

Early Saturday afternoon, police were dispatched to a residence on 20th Street North, after being called by a resident stating that there was an intoxicated male inside trying to fight everyone. Upon arrival, officers located the male suspect outside of the residence. The 43 year old male was Arrested for Breaching the Peace and was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center, to be released when sober.

On Saturday afternoon, police were alerted to 3 subjects consuming open liquor in the 3600 block of Park Ave. Officers attended an located all three suspects. Two were sent on their way home, while the third was found to be highly intoxicated and uncooperative. A 21 year old female was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act, and was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center, to be released when sober.

On Saturday afternoon, police were notified about a male passed out on the walking path near Waterloo Crescent. Officers attended and located a 23 year old male who was extremely intoxicated. Due to his level of intoxication, he was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act, and was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center, to be released when sober.

On Saturday evening, a resident in the 700 block of Braecrest Drive reported a male who was highly intoxicated, was refusing to leave the complainants residence and was breaking things. Officers attended and arrested a 28 year old male for Breaching the Peace. He was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center, to be released when sober.

Early Sunday Morning, police were called to multiple disturbances on Garwood drive. Officers ended up arresting 2 females and 2 males from 2 separate addresses for being highly intoxicated and causing a disturbance. All were lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center, to be released when sober.
