Search Warrant

Late afternoon on October 10, 2019, members of Brandon Police Service Major Crimes Section, conducted a search warrant at a residence on Dufferin Ave.

Located inside the residence was property connected to seven separate thefts, which occurred at Brandon businesses between September 24, 2019 and October 8, 2019.

In each of these thefts, the suspect, whose image was caught on video surveillance, stole power tools and electronics.

A 36-year-old male was arrested in the residence after he was found hiding in the attic, and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. He will appear today on charges of Theft under $5000 X 7, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime as well as outstanding arrest warrants for Theft Under $5000.

 

Stolen Vehicle Recovered

On the afternoon of October 10, 2019, the grey Hyundai Sonata, which had been reported stolen on October 7, 2019, was recovered in the 000 block of Willowdale Cres.

 

Arrest Warrant

At approximately 11:30 pm, police responded to a report of an unwanted female who was attempting to gain access to a residence where she known but wasn’t welcomed by the homeowners. The 26-year-old female was found to be wanted on charges of Breach of Probation out of Winnipeg. She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre due to her intoxication level. She will appear in court on a later date.

 

Breach of Peace

At approximately 12:40 am, police attended to a business in the 1000 block of 18th street, as several intoxicated individuals were causing problems by being belligerent. Two of the individuals who were causing the problems were able to make their own way home; however, the third male could not remember his address. The 44-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to prevent any further problems.

 

Arrest Warrant

Police attended to a residence at approximately 1:30 am to locate a 25-year-old male wanted on outstanding charges of Breach of Probation. The male was at home, arrested, and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. He will appear today in court.

 

Breach of OIC Undertaking

At approximately 3:00 am, a cab driver attended BPS for assistance with a fare. The 13-year-old female youth was unable to pay. Police found she was also to abide by a curfew. She was arrested and released to an adult relative. She will appear in court on November 19, 2019 on a charge of Breach of OIC Undertaking.

 

Five arrested in Traffic Stop/ Possession of Cocaine

Shortly after 2:00 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of 13th street. Police detected an odor of cannabis coming from within the vehicle, which led to a search. A total of approximately 3 grams of cocaine was discovered, in separate packages. All five individuals were arrested for Possession of Cocaine and will appear in court on December 12, 2019. They included a 30-year-old male, a 21-year-old male, two 20-year-old males, and a 15-year-old male youth.
