Weapons Charges/Cruelty to Animals

On September 24, 2019, police received a report of an incident, which occurred near the 100 block of 26th street n. at approximately 7:30 pm. A family was playing with their dog, when they were approached by a male suspect who was not known to them. The male threatened them while pointing a can of bear mace at them. He then proceeded to kick their dog. They were able to capture the incident on video. The suspect was located and arrested on October 7, 2019 after 2:00 pm. The 21-year-old male will appear in court on December 2, 2019 on charges of Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous, Possess Prohibited Weapon, and Cruelty to Animals. The suspect’s intoxication level at the time of the incident is believed to have played a factor in his actions.

 

Stolen Vehicle/Pursuit

On October 7, 2019, police received a report of a stolen vehicle at approximately 8:30 pm. The vehicle, a 2008, 4 door, Grey, Hyundai Sonata, with MB License HHV838 was taken from the 400 block of 10th street.

At 9:15 pm, police observed the vehicle being driven north on 26th street from Victoria Ave. Members attempted to pursue the vehicle within City Of Brandon limits for approximately 5 minutes before terminating the pursuit over safety concerns. The vehicle was last seen travelling south on 18th street, near College Ave. The suspect is believed to be a male, wearing light coloured baseball cap, possibly in his 40’s.

Robbery

At 5:00 pm, police responded to a report of a robbery, which occurred in the 1500 block of 18th street. The victim and her friend reported being assaulted, prior to having a cell phone stolen. They did not require medical attention because of the assault. The two female suspects fled the scene, but one was located nearby and arrested. The 22-year-old female will appear in court on December 2, 2019. Police continue to search for the second suspect.

 

Arrest Warrant

On August 2, 2019, police received a report of a sexual assault, which occurred the evening prior. Police were unable to locate the suspect at the time, and an arrest warrant was issued for his arrest. On October 7, 2019, at approximately 1:40 pm, the 38-year-old male attended BPS on a separate matter, and was arrested. He will appear in court on December 2, 2019 on charges of Sexual Assault and Assault.

 

Arrest Warrant

On October 7, 2019, at approximately 11:40 am, a 36-year-old female attended Brandon Police Service, as she was aware of a warrant in effect for her arrest. She was arrested to appear in court that afternoon on charges of Theft Under $5000 and Fail to Attend Count.

 

Arrest Warrant

On October 7, 2019, shortly before 1:00 pm, a 35-year-old male attended Brandon Police Service, as he was aware of an outstanding arrest warrant. He was arrested to appear in court that afternoon on charges of Sexual Assault and Sexual Interference.

 

Arrest Warrant

At approximately 6:30, pm, a 44-year-old male attended Brandon Police Service as he was aware of outstanding warrants in effect for his arrest. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today on charges issued by Morden Police Service and Carman RCMP.

 

Breach of Peace

At approximately 9:45 pm, police responded to a report of an individual who was damaging her family home while she was under the influence of Meth. Her family members were not able to control her actions or keep her safe. The 25-year-old female was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.

 

IPDA

Police received a report of an intoxicated male in the area of the 100 block of McTavish Ave E. at approximately 1:30 am. As the 62-year-old male was in no condition to care for himself and there was nobody available to turn him over to, he was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.

 

Stolen Vehicle Recovered

Police received notification that the 2017 Hyundai Elantra which had been reported stolen from Brandon on August 14, 2019, was located in Winnipeg, MB early this morning.

 

Arrest Warrant

While on patrol in the area of Bing Ave, at approximately 1:40 am, police located a female youth who was wanted for assault. She was arrested and returned to her caregivers. The 13-year-old youth will appear in court on November 5, 2019.
