Identity theft/ Possess Cocaine

A traffic stop in the 3600 block of Rosser Ave shortly before 3:00 am on October 1, 2019, led police to discover a small bag containing approximately 6 grams of cocaine. The driver and the passenger were arrested and the vehicle searched, leading to the discovery of three bullets.

The driver was found to be the subject of a separate investigation involving the theft of identification which was reported on September 19, 2019. The investigation revealed that the male used stolen ID to attempt to open a bank account in the victim’s name. As the male didn’t match the description of the victim, employees at the financial institution confronted him on the inconsistencies and obtained the stolen ID, before contacting police when the male left the financial institution.

The 40-year-old male passenger will appear in court on a charge of Possess Cocaine on November 14, 2019.

The 45-year-old male driver will appear in court on a charge of Possess Cocaine on November 14, 2019. He will appear in court on December 2, 2019 on charges of Careless storage of Ammunition, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Identity Theft, and Identity Fraud.

 

Unlawful in a Dwelling House

An ongoing investigation into a report of an individual who had entered a residence that he was on conditions not to attend has led to the arrest of a 32-year-old male. The incident occurred on September 29 at approximately 3:50 am. The male barged into the residence and proceeded to act in a threatening manner. He was arrested on Monday afternoon and will appear in court on October 21, 2019 on charges of Unlawful in a Dwelling House and Breach OIC Undertaking.

 

Recovered stolen vehicles

Police received a report of a vehicle, which had been parked, on White Swan St since September 26, 2019. Police discovered that it was a grey Mazda 3, which had been reported stolen on Thursday September 26, 2019.

The stolen Isuzu, 5 tonne cargo truck was also recovered on Monday evening. It was parked in the 1100 block of Dennis Street.

Break and Enter to Garage

Police received a report of a Break and Enter to a garage in the 1000 block of 2nd st occurring overnight between Sept 29 and Sept 30, 2019. The door had been forced open. It is unknown if anything was stolen at this time.

 

Theft Under $5000

Two individuals were observed by employees of a downtown business stealing over $150 worth of merchandise shortly after 8:00 pm. The suspects were identified by the video surveillance from the business and were located and arrested outside their home a short time later. A 44-year-old female and a 51-year-old male will appear in court on November 25, 2019 on a charge of theft under $5000.

 

Break and Enter to Residence

Police received a report of a Break and Enter to a residence on Westaway Bay, which occurred between 2:20 pm and 4:30 pm. Suspects gained entry through a basement window. Once inside they stole furniture, including a couch and a PlayStation 4. Police continue to investigate. Anyone with information regarding this Break and Enter is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

IPDA

Shortly after midnight, police responded to a report of a male who was in the area of the 200 block of 5th st, highly intoxicated by a drug, and unable to care for himself. As there was nobody in a position to care for the male, the 29-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.

Shortly before 3:00 am, police responded to a report of a male who was in the area of the 700 block of Rosser Ave, highly intoxicated by alcohol, and unable to care for himself. As there was nobody in a position to care for the male, the 48-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.

 

Breach of the Peace

At approximately 3:20 am, police responded to a report of two individuals causing problems at a residence while intoxicated by alcohol. The males were no longer welcome in the residence as they were becoming confrontational. A 46-year-old male and a 60-year-old male were both arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to prevent any further issues.
