Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours

 

Theft and Recovery of Stolen Vehicle:

On Saturday evening, Police received a report that a 2013 Grey Jeep Cherokee vehicle was stolen from the downtown area sometime between August 9th and August 10th. On Saturday night, the vehicle was located unoccupied in a parking lot of a business in the 3400 Block of Victoria Avenue. Police investigation continues.  

Arrest Warrants Executed:

A 27 year old female from Brandon was arrested on Saturday afternoon for having an Unendorsed Warrant of Arrest for Theft Under $5000 and Fail to Attend Court. The female suspect was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center and is scheduled to appear in Court on Sunday.

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime:

At approximately 5:00 a.m., Police stopped a pickup truck with no licence plates in the 700 Block of 10th ST. A stolen mountain bike was located and recovered from the back of the truck. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody and a further search recovered a stolen chequebook on his person. The 54-year-old male suspect of no fixed address was arrested for two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. He was lodged at the Correctional Center and is scheduled to appear in Court on Sunday.

Other Arrests:

Two individuals were detained under the Intoxicated Person Detention Act and two individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace. All four of these individuals will be released from custody when sober.
