Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

 

Robbery:

At approximately 12:00 p.m., an adult female reported being robbed by two female suspects outside of a business in the downtown area. The victim was punched in the face and her wallet stolen. The first female suspect is described as being 5’5, 120 lbs., Aboriginal in appearance with blonde hair. The second female suspect is described as Caucasian in appearance, Mohawk style hair cut with tattoos on her arms. The suspects have not yet been located and the Police investigation continues.  

Arrest Warrants Executed:

On Friday afternoon, a female youth turned herself into Police for having an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Failing to Attend Court. The youth was released to attend Court in September.

On Friday evening, Police attended a residence in attempt to locate a 32-year-old male known to have an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Parole Revocation. The male was located, arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center. A 19-year-old female was also located at the residence and was found to have an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation and Fail to Attend Court. She was also lodged at the Correctional Center and is scheduled for a Court appearance on Saturday.

Theft Under $5000:

On August 8th, a business in the 900 Block of 18th ST north reported a male and female suspect stole a shopping cart full of merchandise valued at over $600.00. The Police investigation identified the suspects and on the evening of August 9th both suspects were located walking in the 200 Block of 9th ST. The 29-year-old male suspect was arrested for Theft Under $5000 and released to attend Court in October. The 29-year-old female suspect was arrested for Theft Under $5000 and was also found to be in Breach of three conditions of a Recognizance. She was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center and is scheduled to make a Court appearance on Saturday.  

Fraudulent Use of Credit Card, Theft Under $5000:

On Friday night, a victim reported losing his credit card earlier in the day and three transactions were made on the card at three different west end businesses. Police viewed video surveillance from one of the businesses capturing the suspect using the credit card. At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, the suspect returned to one of the businesses and again tried to use the credit card, which was declined. The suspect then stole two items before leaving the store. The highly intoxicated 29-year-old male suspect was located a short distance away from the business. He was arrested for Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and Theft Under $5000. He was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center and is scheduled to make a Court appearance on August 10th.

Break and Enter to Garage:

A resident in the south end of Brandon reported that sometime overnight on August 9th someone entered an unlocked man door to the garage. A number of items were removed but were dropped in the driveway. Police investigation continues.

Other Arrests:

One individual was detained under the Intoxicated Person Detention Act.

On Friday afternoon, an intoxicated male was located in the 800 Block of Pacific Avenue. The 33-year-old male was found to be on a Conditional Sentence Order with a condition to not consume alcohol. The male was arrested and lodged at the Correctional Center to appear in Court on Saturday.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., Police responded to the 800 Block of Princess Avenue for a male causing a disturbance. The highly intoxicated 39-year-old male was located and found to be in Breach of an Undertaking by consuming alcohol. He was lodged at the Correctional Center for release when sober to attend Court in September.
