Residential Break and Enter

At approximately 1045 hours, a homeowner from the 100 block of Paterson Crescent advised that their unlocked shed was entered sometime between 2330 hours on August 6th and 0930 hours on August 7th. A various assortment of tools were stolen. Anyone with information on this Break and Enter is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.


Commercial Break and Enter


At approximately 1200 hours, the Brandon Police Service received a report of a commercial break and enter. An employee with Manitoba Hydro reported that sometime between 1630 on August 2nd, 2019 and 0800 on August 6th, suspect(s) cut the gate at the Hydro sub station in the 1700 block of Victoria Ave east and stole approximately 500 pounds of copper wire and several jerry cans of gasoline. Police are continuing to investigate at this time. Anyone with information on this Break and Enter is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.


Arrest Warrant

Shortly before 1700 hours, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of McTavish Ave. The male operator was found to be evading an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and released with a court date in October.


Stolen Motor Vehicle

At approximately 1600 hours, an employee reported that a white 2006 International 5 Ton truck was stolen while parked at a loading dock in the 300 block of Park Avenue East today between 0800 – 1230 hours. The truck is marked with “McGavin’s” on the side. The licence plate for the stolen truck is Manitoba CGZ133. The vehicle was locked and the complainant advised that the keys for the truck are accounted for. At approximately 9:00 am this morning, the vehicle was located, parked and unattended in the area of 18th street north and Hwy 1. Anyone with information regarding this vehicle theft is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.


Breach of Court Order

On August 6th and August 7th, the male suspect was out past his curfew as ordered by the courts. At approximately 0130 hrs, police received a report that the suspect had returned home. Officers attended and arrested him for failing to follow his OIC Undertaking. The male suspect was lodged to appear in court in the morning.


Recovery of Stolen Vehicle 

At 0305 hrs, officers observed an SUV  in the 2600 block of Victoria Ave, running but unoccupied. There were no keys located with the vehicle.  The vehicle had not yet been reported as stolen. There were no suspects in the area in which the vehicle was located. The vehicle was subsequently seized to be returned to the owner upon completion of the investigation.
