Attempted Robbery with a Weapon

At approx. 10:15 PM on Sunday evening, a male was in the area of the 500 block of Rosser when two males approached him and tried to rob him.  One of the suspects was carrying a machete, which he used to strike the victim. The victim was able to escape and suffered only minor cuts as a result of the attack.  This matter is still under investigation.

Unlawfully in a Dwelling

At approx. 7:25 AM Sunday morning, police attended to a residence in the 1100 block of Louise Ave for a disturbance.  The caller indicated that a female had gained entry to her enclosed porch and was now pounding on the door to get in.  Upon arrival, Officers located the 28-year-old female of no fixed address, still inside.  She appeared to be under the influence of some type of drug.  She was arrested and lodged until sober at which time she will have a bail hearing, charged with Unlawfully in a Dwelling House and Mischief to Property.

Break and Enter

At 8:40 AM, city maintenance staff reported that the Kin Pool located in the 400 block of Park St had been broken into overnight.  Staff found the chain link fence had been cut and a padlock on one of the doors to the building was also cut. 


At approx. 11:00 AM police were called to the Shopper’s Mall for an assault.  A cab driver in the parking lot reported that a male approached him in his cab and began an argument.  The suspect then pushed and punched the victim and spit on his car before leaving.  An independent witness who happened to be in the parking lot at the time corroborated the complaint to police. Officers attended to the residence of the suspect and arrested the 19-year-old male for assault.  The suspect told the arresting officer that the cab driver cut him off a week or two earlier and he “hates bad drivers”.  The accused will appear in court on October 3rd, charged with common assault.

Break and Enter

At approx. 2:30 of Sunday afternoon police received a report of a garage that was entered in the 1400 block of 7th St. The caller reported that the garage was entered overnight and a few assorted tools were taken. 

Other Arrests

  • Four males were arrested for outstanding warrants
  • One female and one male were lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre for breach of the peace.
