Three IPDA

At approximately 10:00 am, police received calls from a female who claimed that there were people nearby who wanted to do her harm. The female’s report was inconsistent as she tried to explain what was occurring. Police attended to the hotel room where she was at the time. There was nobody with her and the individuals responsible for the room were not there to care for the female. The 31-year-old female was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre due to her meth induced psychosis and no one to care for her.

At approximately 3:00 pm, members on patrol in the downtown area observed a male passed out, due to excessive alcohol consumption, in the street. The 52-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre, as there was nobody to care for his wellbeing.

At approximately 2:45 am, members on patrol in the downtown area observed another male passed out, due to excessive alcohol consumption, in the street. The 67-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre, as there was nobody to care for him.

 

Theft Under $5000

On July 31, 2019, police received a report of the theft of merchandise from a downtown business. The female suspect, who was well known to the employees of the business, left the store with the merchandise prior to police arrival. She was located on August 1, 2019 and arrested for the theft. She will appear in court on September 26, 2019.

 

Arrest Warrant

Shortly before 6:00 pm, members on patrol in the downtown area located a female who was wanted on arrest warrants for Theft under $5000 and Fail to Attend Court. She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today.

 

Break and Enter to Shed

Police received a report that between July 31, 2019 at 11:00pm, and August 1, 2019 at 5:00 pm, suspects broke into a shed in the 1500 block of 26th street. Suspects gained entry by forcing a window. At this time, nothing appears to be missing.

 

Arrest Warrant

At approximately 9:00 pm, Police attended to the address of a 23-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Assault and Utter Threats. He was located there and arrested. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in court today.

At approximately 9:50 pm, police attended to the address of a 46-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court. He was located there and arrested. He will appear in court on August 29, 2019.

 

Stolen Vehicle

Police received a report of a vehicle theft occurring prior to 11:20 pm on August 1, 2019. The vehicle is described as a 1999, black Saturn SCI, with no license plates, as the vehicle is not currently registered. The vehicle was possibly stolen by acquaintances of the owner. Anyone with information regarding this vehicle theft is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Robbery With Violence

At approximately 11:45 pm, police received a report of a robbery at a business in the 3500 block of Victoria Ave. Two males entered the business and stole two cases of beer, and then fled. Two employees of the business attempted to chase the males down, but were sprayed with bear mace once the suspects were caught. They were able to hold one of the male suspects until a third staff arrived to assist. The second male suspect managed to flee. Once police arrived and were able to arrest and search the male in custody, he was also found to be in possession of a machete and a slingshot. The 16-year-old male youth was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. He will appear this morning on charges of Robbery with Violence, Assault with a Weapon X 2, Possess Weapon Dangerous, and Possess Prohibited Weapon. The investigation into the identity of the second male continues.

 

Arrest Warrant

At approximately 3:00 am, police located an intoxicated male stumbling on the roadway downtown. It was learned that the male was wanted on outstanding charges from both Brandon Police Service, and Manitoba First Nations Police. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will be released today to appear in court on August 29, 2019 on charges of Breach of Probation X 3, Unlawfully in a Dwelling House, and Fail to Attend.
