Stolen Vehicle

Shortly before 8:00 am on July 31, 2019, police received a report of a vehicle, which had been stolen overnight. The vehicle had been parked near 21st street north and McDonald Ave. It is a 1980 Blue Chevy Silverado, Manitoba plate ANS660. Anyone with information regarding the theft of this vehicle is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Break and Enter to Business

At approximately 9:00 am, on July 31, 2019, police received a report of a Break and Enter to an exterior building of a business in the 700 block of 17th street. The B & E occurred sometime overnight. Suspects gained entry by prying the door pried the door. At this time, it doesn’t appear that anything is missing. Anyone with information regarding the theft of this vehicle is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Mischief to Property/Breach of OIC Undertaking

At approximately 1:20 pm, police responded to a report of a male who had just smashed the window out at a residence. The witness could then hear a female screaming from within. Police discovered a 20-year-old male at the residence who was to abide by conditions not to attend to the residence and not to communicate with the residents. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. He will be appearing in court today.

 

Arrest Warrant

At approximately 4:00 pm, police received a report of the location of the subject of several outstanding arrest warrants. The 30-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. He will be appearing in court today on the charged issued by Virden RCMP.

 

Public Mischief/Arrest Warrant

At approximately 4:30 pm, police responded to a complaint of a male who was yelling and screaming on a City of Brandon Transit. The male was intoxicated by alcohol, and provided a name to officers. The male was transported to Brandon Correctional Centre to be lodged where his identity was learned. He was found to be wanted on an arrest warrant issued by Thompson RCMP. The 34-year-old male will be appearing in court today on the original warrant charges, as well as additional charges of Public Mischief.

 

Theft Under $5000

Shortly before 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of a theft of merchandise from a business in the 1500 block of 18th street. The staff at the business confronted the suspect on the theft. The 53-year-old female was arrested by police, and will appear in court on October 3, 2019.

 

Impaired Driving/Prohibited Driving

At approximately 9:00 pm, police stopped a vehicle in the 1400 block of Pacific Ave, as the license plates were inactive. The driver displayed signs of impairment, and she was prohibited from driving. She was arrested and provided two samples of her breath, which were more than twice the legal limit. The 30-year-old female was released to a sober friend and will appear in court on August 8, 2019.

 

Assault

Shortly after 1:00 am, police responded to an assault which occurred in the 3100 block of Victoria Ave, in which the suspect head-butted another individual. The suspect was located near 34th and Victoria where he was arrested. The individual who was assaulted did not require any medical attention. The 33-year-old male was released to appear in court on August 23, 2019.

 

Attempted Break and Enter to Business

Police responded to a report of an attempted Break and Enter to a business in the 2500 block of Park Ave. At approximately 3:30 am, on August 1, 2019, the suspect attempted to gain entry to the business by forcing a door, but was unsuccessful. Anyone with information regarding this Break and Enter attempt is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Breach of the Peace

Police responded to a request to remove an unwanted intoxicated male from a residence at approximately 4:00 am. The male was reportedly being destructive in the residence by throwing things around, causing the others in the home to fear for their safety. The 21-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to prevent any further problems.

 

Consumption of Liquor by a Minor – Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act (LGCCA)

Shortly after 1:00 am, police were called to a disturbance outside of a residence. The residents requested police remove an unwanted intoxicated female, as she was being physically aggressive with them. The female turned out to be a youth. She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. She will be released today once she is served a ticket under the LGCCA for $672.00.
