Public Mischief, Breach of Recognizance, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Carry Concealed Weapon

Yesterday we reported on a male who had been arrested for Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Carry a Concealed Weapon as he was found in possession of a cleaver. On Wednesday morning, police discovered that he provided a false name at the time of his arrest. The 37-year-old male was found to be wanted on two arrest warrants for a variety of charges including Break and Enter, Theft of Vehicle, Theft under $5000, Personation, Public Mischief, and Breach of Undertaking. He was re-arrested and will be appearing in court today on the original weapon charges, the warrant charges, and new charges of Public Mischief and Breach of Recognizance.

 

Break and Enter to Garage

A report of a Break and Enter to a garage was received shortly after 11:00 am. It occurred sometime overnight in the 1500 block of 6th street. Suspects entered through a window. Stolen was a weed trimmer and a bone knife with a 5’ blade. Anyone with information regarding this Break and Enter is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

IPDA

At approximately 10:20 am, a report was received of a female who was wandering in the street, and the caller was concerned for their wellbeing. Police received a second report of the female as she had wandered in and out of a residence. The 32-year-old female was located in the driveway of the second caller. Police believe she was high on Meth. She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.

 

Break and Enter and Commit Theft

On June 25, 2019, police received a report to a Break, Enter and Theft from a business in the 1100 block of 18th street. The Break and Enter occurred at approximately 1:00 am. The suspects stole an empty cash box. Video surveillance from the business revealed that one of the suspects was a male youth, who was located and arrested on Wednesday afternoon. He will appear in court on August 6, 2019.

 

Sexual Exploitation, Possession of Child Pornography

On February 21, 2019, police received a report of a 47-year-old male who was secretly videotaping a female youth within his home. He was originally charged with Voyeurism and Possession of Child Pornography for the videos he took. He appeared in court on April 23, 2019. The youth was unaware that she had been recorded until a family member discovered the images on a computer. Further investigation into the male has since revealed that he had also sexually exploited the female youth within his home, and that he was in possession of additional child pornography images. He will appear in court on September 5, 2019.

 

Theft Under $5000

At approximately 5:45 pm, a report was received of a female who had just stolen merchandise from a downtown business before fleeing. She was located a block away still in possession of the stolen merchandise, as well as merchandise she had stolen from a second downtown business. The 22-year-old female was found to be on conditions for which she was in breach. She was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today on charges of Breach of Recognizance, and Theft under $5000 X 2.

 

Assault with a Weapon/Assault PO/Resist Arrest

At approximately 6:45 pm, police received a report of an assault in progress in the area of seventh and McTavish. A verbal altercation turned physical, and escalated quickly. A male and a female were observed punching another male in the head. The female left briefly and retrieved a 4X4 piece of lumber, then handed it to the male who proceeded to swing it at the other male. The male sustained injuries to his head, for which he was treated and released from BRHC.

The male who was committing the assault fled upon police arrival. He was pursued on foot and was apprehended a short distance away. The male swung a fist at one of the officers who was attempting to arrest him, and he continued to struggle as members were attempting to handcuff him. The officer did not require medical attention.

The 25-year-old female was arrested and will appear in court on September 3, 2019 on charges of assault.

The 31-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today on charges of Assault with a Weapon, Assault PO and Resist Arrest.

 

Impaired Driving/Refuse Breathalyzer

Police received a report of a witness following a suspected impaired driver. Police located and stopped the vehicle at approximately 10:40 pm near 1 St Street north and Kirkaldy Drive. The driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested. He was uncooperative with police and refused to provide sample of his breath. There was nobody to release the 32-year-old male over to as he resides in Saskatchewan. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. He will appear in court on July 18, 2019.

 

Assault/ Breach of Recognizance

Police received a report of an assault shortly after 10:00 pm. The complainant had been punched and kicked in the head, requiring treatment at BRHC. The suspect was located and arrested a short distance away from the residence where the assault took place. He was also found to be on conditions not to communicate with the complainant, not to consume alcohol, and not to attend the complainant’s residence. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today.

 

Arrest Warrants

While conducting patrols in the 300 block of Richmond shortly before 4:00 am, police located female pedestrian who was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for Assault, Forcible Entry, and Theft Under. The 40-year-old female was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today.

Shortly before noon a 40-year-old female attended Brandon Police Service to turn herself in on an outstanding arrest warrant for Fail to Appear in Court. She will be appearing in court on August 8, 2019.

 

Breach of Recognizance

Shortly after 4:00 am, police located an intoxicated 22-year-old female in the downtown area. As she was on a court order to abstain from consuming alcohol, she was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in court today.

 

Consume under

At approximately 2:45 am, police responded to several reports of a fight occurring outside of a residence. When police arrived, they discovered that three female youth were causing the disturbance. As they were all intoxicated and under age, they were lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to prevent any further problems. They will each be served with a ticket for consuming alcohol underage.
