Arrest Warrant

Shortly before 2:00 pm, a vehicle was stopped as a part of the Motor Carrier Enforcement safety compliance inspection. The driver was the subject of an outstanding RCMP arrest warrant for Fail to Appear. The 22-year-old male will appear in court in Flin Flon on August 1, 2019.

 

Theft Under $5000

Staff from a downtown business observed a female leave with approximately $200 in unpaid merchandise. She was followed by staff, which assisted officers in locating her located nearby shortly after 4:00 pm. The 38-year-old female was arrested and will be appearing in court on August 29, 2019.

 

Fraud over $5000

On May 21, 2019, police received a report of a stolen credit card that was used fraudulently between May 17 and May 20, 2019. The owner of the card wasn’t sure exactly how the suspects got ahold of it, but in the short time they possessed it they were able to use it for approximately $10,000. The card was used at 22 businesses and ATM’s in Brandon, some of which had video surveillance. There were 41 separate transactions made on the card.

Two individuals were identified as having used the card and both were arrested on Thursday afternoon. Members of Brandon Police Service Major Crimes Section executed a search warrant at the suspects’ residence and seized a number of the purchases made including a BBQ, cell phones, clothes, perfume and other household items. A 54-year-old female and a 26-year-old male were arrested. They will be appearing in court on August 29, 2019.

 

Theft Under $5000

A female youth was identified through video surveillance as a suspect in two thefts from the same south end business. One occurring on June 13 and the second on June 19, 2019. She was arrested on Thursday and will be appearing in court on August 27, 2019.

 

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth/ Proceeds of Crime

A 33-year-old male was arrested at his residence on Thursday afternoon after Members of Brandon Police Service Organized Crime Section conducted a search of his residence. He was found in possession of approximately ¼ ounce of meth, and $5000 cash. The male is currently on court ordered conditions to consent to a police search of his residence. He will be appearing in court on August 12, 2019.

 

Arrest Warrant

A 25-year-old male turned himself in to police at approximately 1:00 am, as he was aware there was a warrant in effect for his arrest for Breach of Recognizance. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today.

 

Impaired Driving/Refuse Breathalyzer

Prior to 9:00 pm, Police received a report of a fender-bender occurring in a parking lot in the 300 block of Durum Drive. The individual calling was concerned because the male who was operating the vehicle, which backed into another parked vehicle, smelled strongly of alcohol. The 73-year-old male driver was arrested, but refused to provide a breath sample. He was released to his wife and will be appearing in court on July 11, 2019.

 

Breach of Probation

At approximately 9:45 pm, police received a report of a rock being thrown through a window at a residence downtown. The homeowner heard laughter, and observed two males running away. Two individuals were located nearby, one of whom was ordered into a 24 hour curfew. The 18-year-old male was arrested and will appear in court on July 16, 2019.

 

Breach of Peace

Shortly before 1:00 am, police received a report of a male who was intoxicated, and causing a disturbance for his family at their residence. Police afforded him the opportunity to leave the residence on his own accord; however, he returned while police were still there. To prevent any further issues for his family, the 38-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.

 

Arrest Warrant

While on patrol prior to 3:00 am, police conducted a pedestrian check in the north end. The male was found to be the subject of an outstanding RCMP warrant. The 23-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today.

 

Breach of Peace

Police received a report of a disturbance between friends at a residence at approximately 3:30 am. Three individuals were present, when one of them proceeded to act out physically by throwing things, and assaulting his friends. The friends were concerned that the male may have taken an unknown drug, as his behavior was out of character. They declined to have him charged. The 21-year-old male was taken to be checked out medically as a precaution, and then lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.
