Stolen Vehicle/Stolen Lawnmower

On Monday morning a white, 2005 Ford Econoline Van was discovered stolen. It has MB license plate CEJ 604. It is believed to have been taken between 11:00 and 11:30 pm from the 900 Block of 24th street, on Sunday evening. The van contained thousands of dollars in tools, including ladders, compressors, and power tools.

At approximately 12:30 am, the stolen van was driven to the 200 block of Rosser Ave.; where it was used to load a Cub Cadet riding lawnmower, yellow in colour. Anyone with information to these thefts is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Break and Enter – Garage

Between 7:30 am and 9:30 am, suspects caused damage to an overhead garage door to gain access in the 200 block of 10th street East. Nothing within the garage appears to be missing. Anyone with information to these thefts is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Vehicle Fires

Between Saturday, June 22 and Sunday June 23, 2019, two separate vehicles were discovered to have interior damage in the form of charred materials and smoke damage. There was no damage to the vehicles exteriors. Both vehicles were parked in the 700 block of McDiarmid drive. It is unknown exactly when the damage occurred, as both vehicles were discovered after the fact, and one of them was not discovered until Monday. It is also unknown exactly what caused the damage. Both vehicles were towed for further investigation.

A third vehicle fire occurred in the 1000 block of Russell Street between 2:00 am and 2:30 am on Monday morning. A witness observed a suspect start the fire in the truck cab before taking off. The witness was then able to extinguish the fire. In this incident, the suspect started the fire by lighting a can of gas. This vehicle was also towed for further investigation. It is unknown if these vehicle fires are related. Anyone with information to these fires is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Assault

Shortly after 2:00 pm, police received a call of a disturbance to the 300 block of 9th street. A 33-year-old male was being disorderly to the point where staff on site were required to intervene to attempt to have the male vacate the premises. The male would not comply and proceeded to strike a staff member. The staff did not require medical attention. Police arrested the male then lodged him at Brandon Correctional Centre. He will appear in court today.

 

Arrest Warrant

Police received a call at approximately 4:30 pm of two unwanted family members in a home. They were not welcome in the home due to their illicit drug use. One of the individuals was wanted on an outstanding warrant for Theft Under $5000. The 20-year-old male was arrested and will be appearing in court on July 22, 2019.

 

Four IPDA

At approximately 7:30 pm, police received a call of a disturbance in the Keystone Centre grounds. Some of the individuals moved along freely; however, three individuals were unable to due to their extreme intoxication. A 19-year-old female and two 56-year-old males were lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.

A fourth 50-year-old male was also lodged at approximately 9:00 pm.

 

Assault

At approximately 10:00 pm, police received a complaint of an assault where a female youth struck a youth care worker. The worker did not require medical attention. The youth was arrested and will appear in court on July 23, 2019.
