Break and Enter Residence

Police received a report of a residential break and enter which occurred between 1:00 am and 9:00 am in the 100 block of Ashgrove Blvd. Suspects gained entry by forcing a door to the home. Stolen was a PlayStation 4 and Bose speakers. A resident two blocks away from this break and enter reports that at 2:46 am, a suspect attempted to enter their home but was unsuccessful. The male suspect was wearing light coloured top, jeans and a light coloured hat, while carrying a backpack. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Break and Enter Business

Suspects smashed the window to a business in the 900 block of Queens Ave between 9:30 pm on June 22 and 11:30 am on June 23, 2019. Stolen was a petty cash box containing cash. Anyone with information to this incident is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Possess Stolen Property, Breach of Court Order

Shortly after 3:00 pm, police received a report of a male who was in possession of the caller’s bicycle that had previously been reported stolen. Police located the suspect in a downtown park. Upon learning the identity of the male, police discovered he was on conditions not to attend anywhere children may gather. Police lodged the 31-year-old male at Brandon Correctional Centre and will be appearing in court today. The bicycle was returned to the owner.

 

Arrest - Bear Mace Incident – June 16, 2019

On June 16, 2019 at approximately 9:30 pm, a suspect sprayed a male youth with bear mace while downtown. He fled the area on a scooter prior to police arriving at the scene. BFES treated the male at the scene. Initial reports indicated the suspect also chased several other youth with bear mace, while in the downtown area as early as 5:45 pm that day. The investigation has identified a suspect, a male youth, who was located and arrested Sunday evening. He will appear in court on July 23, 2019 on charges of Assault with a Weapon and Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

 

Breach of Recognizance

At approximately 6:30 pm, police received a call requesting assistance in removing an intoxicated female from a residence in the west end were she was not wanted. The female suspect is on court orders to abstain from consuming alcohol. Police arrested the 44-year-old female, and lodged her at Brandon Correctional Centre. She will appear in court on August 15, 2019.

 

IPDA

Shortly before 8:00 pm, police received a report of a highly intoxicated male who was walking in traffic in the intersection of 26th street and Park Ave. He was stopping traffic and making threatening gestures to motorists as they passed. As there was no one sober to turn him over to, the 23-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.

 

Arrest Warrant

While conducting patrols in the downtown area at approximately 2:00 am, police came across a 27-year-old male pedestrian who was wanted on charges of Breach of Probation. Once arrested he was released to appear in court on July 22, 2019.
