19 JUNE 2019 MEDIA RELEASE FOR THE PAST 24 HOURS:

 

 

Break & Enter (Business):

At 7:00am police responded to a report of a Break & Enter to a community club in the 000’ block of Willowdale Cres. The B&E occurred sometime between 5:30pm and 7:00am. Stolen were two microwaves, a toaster, set of keys, and various food items. Police continue to investigate.

 

Mischief to Property under $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Public Mischief:

At 6:05am police were called to the 1000’ block of 2nd Street for a male who was damaging property and checking car doors. Police located the suspect, a 43 year old Brandon man, and he provided a false name. While dealing with the male, police received a complaint of a motor vehicle that had been abandoned and left running a few blocks away. The vehicle was found to be stolen and police were able to link the suspect to the vehicle through video surveillance. He was arrested and lodged at BCC to be released later in the day for court on August 12th, 2019.

 

Theft under $5000 (Shoplifting):

On June 17th, 2019, police received a complaint of theft from a store in the 900’ block of Victoria Ave. At that time staff recovered the stolen merchandise; however, the suspect fled from the store. On June 18th, 2019, police located the suspect, a 23 year Brandon woman and arrested her for the theft. She was released for court on August 12th, 2019.

 

Sexual Interference, Sexual Exploitation, Sexual Assault:

After a lengthy investigation by the BPS Major Crimes Section, police arrested a 45 year old Brandon man for sexual interference, sexual exploitation, and sexual assault, for incidents that occurred between 2009 and 2014. The victim was under the age of 16 at the time of the incidents and known to the offender. The man was released on conditions for court on August 15th, 2019.

 

Warrant Executed (Theft under $5000):

A 29 year old Brandon man attended to BPS as he was aware of an outstanding warrant for theft under $5000. He was released for court on July 18th, 2019.

 

Domestic Assault, Breach of Recognizance, Warrant Executed (FTA court):

At 6:05pm police were called to the 200’ block of 5th Street for a disturbance. A 26 year old Brandon man was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend. He was also found to have a warrant from MFNP for failing to appear in court. The victim did not require medical attention. The man was lodged at BCC for court on June 19, 2019.

 

Warrant Executed (Breach of Probation):

At 6:56pm police conducted a traffic stop in the 100’ block of Princess Ave East. A passenger in the vehicle was found to have a warrant for failing to comply with probation. The 22 year old Brandon man was released for court on August 8th, 2019.

 

Domestic Assault:

Police received a complaint from a female indicating she had been assaulted by her boyfriend on June 4th, 2019. A 37 year old Brandon man was arrested for domestic assault. He was released on conditions for court on August 12th, 2019.

 

Breach of Undertaking:

At 7:39pm police were called to the 1200’ block of 20th Street for a disturbance. A 15 year old female was found outside her residence past a curfew condition of her Undertaking. She was arrested and lodged for court on June 19, 2019.
