Stolen Vehicle

On Friday morning a Brandon resident reported that their vehicle had been stolen sometime overnight, between 3 a.m. and 8 a.m. The vehicle, parked on the street in front of the owners residence, is a 2009 Blue Honda CRV, Manitoba license plate HWE 723.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered

On Friday morning a 2004 Ford F-150 previously reported stolen in Brandon on Thursday, June 13, was recovered in Moosomin. A 45 year old male from Brandon was arrested by RMCP without incident, and is facing a charge of theft of a motor vehicle and breach of recognizance.

Shoplifter

On Friday afternoon a 51 year old female from Brandon was arrested at a local retailer by Loss Prevention Staff after attempting to steal food and houseware products. She was released by police to appear in Court in August, and is facing a single charge of theft under $5,000. 

Shooting Investigation Continues

At 3 p.m. Friday afternoon, a second male from Brandon was arrested in relation to the ongoing investigation of the shooting in the 1000 block of 9th Street on Wednesday, June 5th. A 23 year old Brandon male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will be remanded this morning. He is charged with one count of possession of a prohibited Firearm, and pointing a firearm.

Drug Charges

Two people were taken into custody as a result of a traffic stop at 1:25 a.m., Saturday morning. Both subjects were arrested and removed from the vehicle when open liquor was observed in plain view within the vehicle interior. Once outside the vehicle the male occupant removed a ringing cellular telephone from his pocket which he dropped to the ground and stomped on. This action destroyed the phone and rendered it inoperable. The members continued to search the vehicle incidental to the original arrest and found just over $13,000 cash, 1 ounce of cocaine, and 43 grams of crack cocaine. A 35 year old male from Edmonton was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to be remanded today. A 31 year old Brandon female was released to appear in court in August. Both are charged with possession of cocaine and crack cocaine for the Purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime.

Other Arrests

Two people were arrested and lodged at BCC under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act, and one person was processed and released on an outstanding arrest warrant.
