Possession of Controlled Substance – Cocaine and Meth

Shortly after 5:00 pm police received a report of a suspicious male walking through yards in the 500 block of 14th street. The 24-year-old male was located by police and found to be in possession of a small quantity of both cocaine and meth. He was arrested and will be appearing in court on August 8, 2019.

 

Possession of Meth/Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking

Police conducted a vehicle stop in the 3400 block of Willowdale Cres. shortly after 1:00 pm. The 2 occupants were found to have an air pistol, canister of bear mace, 3.7 grams of cocaine, 4 grams of meth, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and cash. A 26-year-old male was arrested and lodged and will appear in court today on charges of Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Meth for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possess Codeine, Possess Proceeds of Crime, Possess Weapon Contrary to Order, and Breach of Recognizance. A 24-year-old female was arrested and will appear in court on August 8, 2019 on charges of Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Meth for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possess Codeine, and Possess Proceeds of Crime.

 

Assault

Police received a panic alarm from a group home worker after 8:00 pm. When police attended they learned that a worker had been assaulted by being punched and kicked several times. The worker did not require medical attention. The female youth responsible was arrested, and returned to the home once the staff member had been relieved for the evening. The youth will appear in court on July 9, 2019 for assault.

 

Administer Noxious Thing – Bear Mace incident

On June 2, 2019 police were called to a house party where a can of bear mace was suspected to have been used on partygoers. Four youth were treated at the scene, but did not require to go to the hospital. The bear mace was located at the time and seized at the scene. Further investigation revealed the responsible individual to be an 18-year-old male. He was located Sunday evening and arrested. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will be appearing in court today on charges of Assault with a Weapon, Administer Noxious Thing, Unauthorized Possession of Weapon, and Breach of Undertaking.

 

Arrest Warrant

An 18-year-old male was located at a residence and arrested on Sunday evening. He was wanted on multiple charges from RCMP and Brandon Police Service. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will be appearing in court today on charges of Mischief to Property, Possess Stolen Property, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Break and Enter with intent, and Fail to attend Court.

 

Arrest Warrant

While on patrol in the downtown area, police came across a 22-year-old female who was wanted on charges of Fail to Attend Court. Shortly after 10:00 pm she was arrested and released to appear in court on July 4, 2019.

 

Assault

While concluding a separate matter at 11:38 pm, a Brandon Police Service member was alerted to a disturbance occurring in an apartment nearby. Officers could hear an individual in distress from outside the building. A 29-year-old male was found to have assaulted the victim by head-butting, and elbowing causing multiple bruises. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. He will appear today in court on charges of assault.

 

Robbery

At 3:16 am Police received a report of a robbery which occurred in the 1000 block of Princess avenue. The adult male victim was able to attend Brandon Police Service on his own to make the report, but required assistance in getting to Brandon Regional Health Centre to have his injuries tended to. The two suspects stole his wallet and black/red/grey CCM men’s mountain bike. One suspect was described as wearing jeans, and a grey sweater and being approximately 6 feet tall. The second is described as wearing brown steel toed boots, with black toes. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Attempt Break and Enter Business

Police received a business alarm at 4:48 am to the 2000 block of Park Avenue. The suspects had fled prior to police arrival. It is not believed that entry was gained to the business, however the pry marks on the door left it extensively damaged.
