Breach of Probation

At approximately 7:30 am, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence at a west end home. The home owner ran to a neighbour for assistance in calling police. Police arrested located and arrested a 32-year-old male who was on conditions not to attend the residence. Due to his intoxication level he was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and he will be appearing in court on July 4, 2019.

 

Sexual Interference

On May 6, 2019, police received a report from Child and Family Services of sexual abuse occurring to 2 male children. As a result of this ongoing investigation a 45-year-old male family member was arrested on Thursday. He will be appearing in court on August 1, 2019 on charges of Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, Sexual Exploitation.

 

IPDA

At approximately 3:00 pm police received a report of an intoxicated 50-year-old male passed in the east end. He was unable to care for himself and had nobody to take responsibility for him. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.

 

Multiple tires slashed

On Thursday morning, six individuals discovered their vehicle tires had been slashed overnight in the 800 block of 15th street, 700 block of 16th street, and 700 block of 17th street. The suspect is a male who was observed in the area, wearing a blue jacket with a black stripe across the chest. A photo of the suspect is available. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Possession Prohibited Weapon

At approximately 7:50 pm police received a report that six individuals had been pepper sprayed at a residence downtown. The suspect fled prior to police arriving, but he was located a short distance away, still in possession of the bear mace. The 32-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. He will be appearing today on charges of Possess Prohibited Weapon, And Breach of Weapons Prohibition order. No one sprayed required any medical treatment.

 

Carry Concealed Weapon

At approximately 8:30 pm police who were on foot patrol at the fair checked a group of individuals, some of who appeared to be intoxicated. One of the males within this group was found to be carrying a billiard ball which had been wrapped in a bandana and electrical tape, and given a handle; therefore, fashioning a weapon. A 25-year-old male was arrested, and will be appearing in court on August 6, 2019 on charges of Carry concealed Weapon, Possess Prohibited Weapon, and Breach of Probation.

One of the individuals in the group was too intoxicated to be left on his own accord. A 35-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act (IPDA).

 

Arrest Warrant

At approximately 10:00 pm a female youth who was located by members on foot patrol at the fair was found to be wanted on charges of Breach of Recognizance. She was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will be appearing in court today.

 

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

At approximately 1:00 am police conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Rosser Ave. E as the vehicle had inactive plates. The occupants were observed to have open liquor bottles in plain view which lead to their initial arrests. They were found to be in possession of two bags of meth totaling approximately 15 grams, a bag containing a mixture of Meth and a cutting agent, other drug trafficking paraphernalia, and a set of brass knuckles. A 22-year-old male was arrested on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Meth, Possession of Prohibited Weapon, and Breach of Probation. A 30-year-old female was arrested on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Meth, and Possession of Prohibited Weapon. They will both appear in court on August 8, 2019.

 

Assault with Weapon X 4

On Thursday evening police arrested a 33-year-old female after an ongoing investigation into a series of separate assaults on the same victim. The assaults occurred between January 10, 2019 and March 27, 2019. She will appear in court on July 4, 2019.

 

Shed Fire

At 2:38 am police responded with BFES to a report of a shed on fire in the 1300 block of 2nd street. The fire was contained to the shed and extinguished. The cause of the fire is unknown.

 

Grass Fire – Queen Elizabeth park

Police and BFES responded to a report of a fire spreading in the grass at Queen Elizabeth Park at approximately 9:09 pm. The cause of the fire is unknown. Two male youth were observed running from the fire scene, but they were not identified or located. There was no damage to any structures.
