Arrest Warrant

Police located a 31-year-old male in the area of 9th and Park Ave, while searching for a suspicious person at 7:20 am. The male was found to be wanted on charges of Breach of Undertaking. He was arrested and appeared in court Wednesday morning.

 

Breach of Recognizance

At approximately 3:00 pm police responded to a disturbance at a residence downtown. Located at the residence was a 20-year-old female who was to abide by conditions, not to communicate with one of the other occupants. She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today.

 

Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

At approximately 4:15 pm police responded again to the same above noted residence for another disturbance. A male believed to be part of the cause of the disturbance fled as police arrived and was observed brandishing a machete. Police pursued the male, who ran inside a nearby residence to avoid arrest. The 25-year-old male was arrested and the machete was recovered. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will be appearing in court today.

 

Arrest Warrant

Shortly after 3:00 pm police received a report that a male wanted on an arrest warrant for Assault and Mischief Under was at a meeting with his Probation Worker. The 22-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today.

 

Assault Cause Bodily Harm

Police responded to a report of a disturbance in progress at an east end residence just before 6:00 pm. Police located a female victim who sustained injuries. She was treated and released from Brandon Regional Health Centre. A male youth was found to be responsible for the injuries. Once arrested he was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today.

 

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking - Meth/Firearms seized

As a result of the investigation into the shooting from June 5, 2019, police conducted a search of the residence. As a result of the search, police located 1 oz. of Methamphetamine, and two firearms. One firearm was a sawed off rifle, and the other a long rifle. A-33-year-old male has been arrested for the possession of the firearms and the Meth. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre, and will appear in court this morning on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth, Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm, and Breach of Probation. Police continue to investigate the shooting.

 

Arrest Warrant

At approximately 8:40 pm police responded to a report of several intoxicated individuals in the 1300 block of 18th street who were causing problems. Members discovered that one of the individuals was wanted on charges of Breach of Probation. The 49-year-old male was arrested and will appear in court on July 8, 2019.  

 

Fraud Use of Credit Card

Police received a report of the theft and fraudulent use of a credit card on Wednesday evening at 7:40 pm. The suspect was located at an east end business shortly after the initial complaint, and after having just used the card to make purchases. The 19-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court on August 1, 2019.

 

Female Youth – LGCA Consume Under

At approximately 7:30 pm police received a report of a group of 6 females involved in a fight at the summer fair. The group dispersed, but one youth who was part of the problem was found to be highly intoxicated. She was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will be released today on a ticket under the Liquor Control and Gaming Act for Consume Under. The fine for this ticket is $672.00.

 

Possession of Prohibited Weapon

At approximately 11:30 pm members intervened in a separate fight at the fair. A male youth involved in the disturbance was found to be in possession of bear mace. He was arrested and will appear in court on August 6, 2019. Police do not believe anyone was sprayed by the mace.

 

IPDA

At 1:40 am members located a 56-year-old male passed out on a bench in the 1800 block of Richmond Ave. As the male was unable to care for himself, resides in a rural community, and had nobody in Brandon to care for him, he was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.
