Breach of Recognizance/Probation

At approximately 7:20 am police received reports that a male was knocking on doors in a south west neighbourhood, while claiming to be chased by people with weapons. The male was located by police but nobody was found to be chasing him. He admitted to be high on methamphetamine. Police believe he was hallucinating the people chasing him. He was found to on court ordered conditions not to consume any drugs. The 30-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today.

 

Break and Enter to Construction Site

Police received a report of a Break and Enter to a construction site downtown which occurred over the weekend. Several thousand dollars’ worth of tools and power tools is believed to be stolen.

 

Stolen/Recovered Vehicle

A black 2012 Nissan Versa was parked in the 1100 block of 13 St. overnight, and discovered stolen shortly after 12:00 pm. It was later recovered by RCMP on Hwy 340 between Shilo and Wawanesa at approximately 3:00 am. Anyone with information to this theft is encouraged to contact Brandon Police Service.

 

Fail to comply with Probation Order

At 1600 a 33-year-old female turned herself into police as she was aware there was a warrant in effect for her arrest. She will appear in court on July 4, 2019.

 

IPDA

A 61-year-old male was found intoxicated, wandering the street at approximately 9:40 pm. He was not welcome at home, but he was too inebriated to be left alone. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.

At approximately 10:45 pm police received a call from concerned family members that a 51-year-old male was out on the streets intoxicated. Due to his destructive behavior at the family residence earlier in the evening he was not welcome back. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.

 

Arrest Warrants

Police received a report of a dispute between 3 individuals at approximately 8:30 pm in the 1000 block of 8th street. The caller believed that one of the individuals may have been in possession of a gun. The individuals fled the area when police arrived but were all located nearby. The gun turned out to be a toy. One of the male youth was wanted on outstanding charges of Public Mischief, Theft Under, and Fail to attend court. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today. A second male youth was also taken into custody as he was found to be extremely intoxicated. He was not welcome home in his state, and was also lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. The third male youth was also intoxicated, but was allowed to go home.

 

Impaired Driving

At approximately 7:30 pm police received a report that an intoxicated driver struck a parked car in a parking lot in the 1200 block of 18th street. A 21-year-old male was arrested and provided samples over the legal limit. He was released to a sober friend and will appear in court on June 6, 2019.

 

Breach of Recognizance X 2

At approximately 1:00 am, two female youth were located together at an address which was neither of their residences. Both had been previously ordered into conditions which included to abide by curfews and not to communicate with each other. They were arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre, and will appear in court today.

 

Bear Mace Incident

Police received a report of an incident in which individuals were sprayed with bear mace in the 3100 block of Victoria Ave at 4:30 am. Three individuals who were known to each other were allegedly having a disagreement over money owed. The suspect turned out to be a female youth, who also contaminated herself with the mace. She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Center after she was decontaminated. She will appear in court on a later date for Possession of a Prohibited Weapon. One of the other individuals she sprayed, a male youth, required medical assistance to be decontaminated. The 3rd individual involved, a 19-year-old male, was found to be wanted on outstanding charges. He was also found to be in breach of court ordered conditions to abide by a curfew and not to consume alcohol. He was also arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today on charges of Breach of Undertaking, and Breach of Probation.
