Break and Enter to Business

BPS received a complaint of a break and enter to a business in the 300 block of Park Ave e.  The incident is believed to have occurred between April 27 and May 7, 2019.  Stolen was a grandfather clock, a TV, and a filing cabinet.  There are no suspects.  Anyone with information regarding this B & E is encouraged to contact BPS.

 

Breach of the Peace

Police responded to a complaint of a 21 year old woman causing a disturbance in the parking lot of a business in the 1100 block of 18th street shortly before noon on Wednesday.  The woman was found to be in a physical altercation with family members who were unable to calm her down.  She was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to prevent any further incidents.

 

IPDA

Over the noon hour on Wednesday, officers responded to a complaint of intoxicated individuals on private residential property in Brandon’s core area.  A 42 year old male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre due to his extreme level of intoxication.

Breach of the Peace

Also over the noon hour on Wednesday, members responded to a complaint of an intoxicated female causing a disturbance outside City Hall.  The 34 year old woman was taken into custody and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to prevent the continuation of the disturbance.

 

Theft Under $5000

As a result of an investigation into a theft that occurred on April 22, 2019, police were able to identify the suspect as a result of surveillance video.  Police were aware that the suspect was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, and were on hand to arrest him after his scheduled appearance.  The 43 year old male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will be appearing on his new charges today.

 

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

On Wednesday afternoon, BPS received a report of a theft from a downtown business.  A witness watched as a suspect took the stolen merchandise to a second male who was just outside the business.  The second male was located and arrested by police while still in possession of the stolen merchandise.  Once the 57 year old male was arrested, police learned he was also bound by conditions not to attend the business.  He was released and will appear in court on June 6, 2019.

 

Motorcycle MVC

Police responded to an MVC involving a motorcycle at 10th and McTavish early Wednesday evening.  The 71 year old male operating the motorcycle received minor injuries as a result and was transported by BFES to BRHC.  The 69 year old male operating the automobile has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act for Careless Driving and Proceed Before Safe.

 

Warrant

A 34 year old male turned himself in to BPS on Wednesday evening as he was aware there was a warrant for his arrest for Fail to Appear.  He was released and will appear in court on June 3, 2019.

 

Warrant

Late Wednesday evening, police responded to a call of a female acting suspicious in a downtown business.  Upon attendance, Police learned the 26 year old female suspect was the subject of a warrant for Breach of Probation.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.  She will be appearing in court today.

 

Impaired Care and Control

Wednesday evening, a 57 year old Winnipeg male was reported to be slumped behind the wheel of his vehicle in the south end of Brandon.  A witness reportedly checked on him and discovered a strong odor of alcohol.  When Police responded they found him seated in the driver’s seat with his hazard warning lights activated.  He was arrested and provided breath samples more than twice the legal limit.  He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to be released when sober to appear in court on May 13, 2019.

 

Breach of OIC Undertaking

On Wednesday evening, Police received reports of a male stumbling in and out of traffic on Victoria Ave.  Upon attendance, police located a 22 year old male subject passed out.  It was learned that the male was on conditions to abstain from consuming alcohol.  He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre due to his level of intoxication and will be appearing in court on July 4, 2019.

 

Breach of the Peace

Late Wednesday evening, police received reports of 6-7 people fighting in a west end neighborhood.  A 22 year old male was located in the area in an intoxicated state.  He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre due to his intoxication level.

 

Breach of the Peace

Police received a report of a male believed to be under the influence of Methamphetamines and experiencing hallucinations in a south end residence.   As a result, a 30 year old male was taken into custody shortly after midnight as police were concerned for his wellbeing.  He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre.
