Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

On Saturday evening, a vehicle known by police to belong to a woman who is banned from the city of Brandon was observed on Creighton Blvd.  The vehicle was then stopped by police in the 2600 block of Victoria Ave and the female driver was arrested for breaching a recognizance order.  The vehicle was searched following her arrest and over 30 grams of methamphetamine was located.  The woman, a 36 year old from the RM of Woodworth, was lodged at Brandon Correctional Center and will appear in court on Sunday morning charged with Breach of Recognizance and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine.

Recovered Stolen Truck and Trailer

At 1:40 am on Sunday morning, Winnipeg Police Service advised they had recovered a 2012 Dodge Ram and enclosed trailer that were stolen from a Brandon business in February.  The vehicle was located abandoned on a street in Winnipeg and was towed for fingerprint examination by WPS.

Other Arrests

One person was lodged under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.

A 20 year old man from Brandon was lodged at Brandon Correctional Center after he interfered with officers on a vehicle stop in the parking lot of a bar on Victoria Ave.  The man was intoxicated and continued to cause problems after being told to leave. He will be issued at Provincial Offence Notice for being disorderly at a licensed premises when he is released from jail on Sunday.

A 38 year old Brandon woman was arrested on several warrants. She will appear in court on Sunday.

A 32 year old woman from Brandon was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear as a witness. She was lodged at BCC to appear in court on Sunday.
