Warrant Executed

On May 2nd, 2019, a 56 year old man turned himself in to Winnipeg Police when he discovered that BPS held a warrant for him for Breach of Probation. The man was subsequently released on a PTA to appear in Brandon Court on May 30th, 2019

 

Assault

On May 2nd, 2019, a 14 year old youth was charged as a result of a common assault investigation. The youth was released on a PTA to appear in Brandon Court on June 4th, 2019.

 

Fraud Over $ 5000.00

On May 2nd, 2019, a 32 year old woman from Alexander was arrested as a result of an ongoing investigation into a Fraud at an East end business which had occurred between August 2018 and April 2019.  The woman was released on a PTA to appear in Brandon Court on June 27th, 2019.

 

Warrant Executed

On May 2nd, 2019, BPS executed a warrant on behalf of Winnipeg Police. The 29 year old 

Man, who is currently in custody at Brandon Correctional Centre, will be transferred to Winnipeg to appear in Winnipeg Court on May 3rd, 2019.

 

Warrant Executed

On May 2nd, 2019, at 7:45 pm police attended to a business in the Westend of Brandon on an unrelated call. While at the call, police discovered that a 46 year old woman who had warrants for Breach of Probation and Fail to Attend Court. The woman was released on a PTA and will appear in Brandon Court on June 27th, 2019.

 

Assault with a Weapon

On May 2nd, 2019, at 9:45 pm, police attended to a residence in the 1300 blk of 1st Street as a result of a disturbance complaint. Police arrested a 13 year old youth for Assault with a Weapon. The youth will appear in Brandon Court on May 30th, 2019

 

Possess Property Obtained by Crime

On May 3rd, 2019, at 12:25 am, police apprehended a 17 year old youth who was going through vehicles in a parking lot in the 1500 blk of 18th Street. The youth was lodged at BCC and will be issued a PTA to appear in Brandon Court on June 4th, 2019.

 

PPT Heroin, Possess Meth, Possess Proceeds of Crime as well as Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

 On May 2nd, 2019, Brandon police became involved in a CDSA investigation which led to the arrest of six individuals, all of whom, are in custody and will appear in Brandon Court on May 3rd, 2019. In the initial portion of this investigation, police conducted a vehicle stop which led to the seizure of 11 oz of Meth (potential maximum street value of $ 30,800) as well as a quantity of Canadian currency. A second vehicle was also stopped a short period of time later leading to the seizure of 4 oz of Heroin (potential maximum street value of $ 56,000). A short time after the second vehicle stop, a 28 year old Brandon woman was stopped and found in possession of 71 grams of Meth (potential maximum street value of $ 7,000.00) as well as a can of bear spray. Police then conducted a Search Warrant on a residence in the west end of Brandon which led to a further seizure of 9 oz. of Meth and 2 grams of Heroin (with a total potential maximum street value of $ 26,400.00).

As a result of the a/n incident the following individuals were arrested:

  1. A 45 year old man from Thompson for PPT Heroin,
  1. A 45 year old man from Brandon for PPT Heroin and Possess Meth as well as Possess Proceeds of Crime,
  1. A 40 year old man from Winnipeg for PPT Meth, and Proceeds of Crime
  1. A 28 year old woman from Brandon for PPT Meth, Possession of Heroin, Possess Proceeds of Crime as well as Possess a Prohibited Weapon and Possess Weapon Contrary to a Prohibition Order,
  1. A 24 year old man from Winnipeg for PPT Meth, Proceeds of Crime as well as Possess,
  2. A 20 year old man from Thompson for PPT Meth.

Over the last week Brandon Police Officers have been instrumental in the seizure of a large quantity of illicit drugs including Meth, Heroin, and Fentanyl. These illicit drugs have a total potential maximum street value of over $ 453,200.00.

Those who engage in unlawful drug activity ruin communities, families and relationships with loved ones.  The Brandon Police Service remains dedicated to enforcing laws against illegal drugs and those who sell them and will continue to make every effort to keep Brandon safe.

 

Intoxicated Persons Detention Act

On May 3rd, 2019, at 12:50 am, police located a highly intoxicated 27 year old man, of no fixed address, in the 000 hundred blk of 9th Street. The man was lodged at BCC and was released once he sobered up.

 

Warrant Executed / Possess Meth / Breach of Recognizance / Possess Ammunition Contrary to a Prohibition Order.

On May 3rd, 2019, at 3:33 am, police checked a 39 year old Woman from Brandon at 1st Street and Victoria Avenue. The woman was found to have a warrant for Theft Under

$5000 as well as Fail to Appear for Court and Fingerprints. In a search incident to arrest, police also located 1.3 gms of Meth and a quantity of ammunition. As a result of these discoveries, the accused was also charged with Possession of Ammunition Contrary to a Prohibition Order as well as Possess Meth.  She was also in breach of her recognizance. The woman was lodged at BCC and will appear in Brandon Court on May 3rd, 2019

 

Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

On May 3rd, 2019, at 3:33 am, police checked an intoxicated 40 year old Brandon man at 1st Street and Victoria Avenue who was found in possession of a prohibited weapon, that being, a can of bear spray. The man was lodged at BCC and will be released on a PTA when sober to appear in Brandon Court on July 2nd, 2019
